The warmest day in May in UK for 72 years. Pretty scary, if lovely temperature here at 26° with a cooling breeze.
Need some climate stabalising actions right now.
But not giving up having a car..

Come a long to find a range of bargain plants. Tree seedlings, sweet peas, vegetable seedlings, perennial and annual flowers, herbs will be there to browse through.
Helpful herbs may have a table of herbal medicines and skin moisteurisers there too.

The late spring picking begins.
Life has returned to normal. I have finally got time to collect herbs. Such a good year for Hawthorn and other white blossoms like Dogwood/Cornus. .
So here are Hawthorn / Crategeus flowers; Black currant/Ribes nigrum leaves and Catnep/ Nepeta in place to dry for Tasty herbal teas.

Bearberry, Arctostaphylos uva ursi. Great urinary, kidney and lower abdomen such uterine tonic. Grows well in Scotland.

Great to see Helpful herbs used as market publicity.
I'm busy getting legistics sorted out.
Helpful herbs just got 6 products their Cosmetic product safety regulation certificates.
Lots of paper work, but they are deemed safe, with the normal warnings.
So Comfey, Marigold Golden and Bright orange, Chickweed, Chamomile and Lemon balm ointments were re named as Salves on my website. Now they will be renamed as Body butters.

A quick heads-up for anyone who enjoys a local market.

Rosewell Market, run by SHS Events, returns on Sunday 3 May in The Steading car park.

The market will run from 10am to 2pm, with further dates planned for the first Sunday of each month over the summer.

Local market days are back!

Here's one of the machines speeding up transplanting Bergonias. We also saw a seed sowing machine and a machine planting Lavender cuttings from Kenya. All in peat. They have a high success rate of taking.

Pentland plants greenhouses was an amazing tour of mechanisation and large scale flower growing.

Chloe Bruce from Helpful herbs had a great day pruning apple trees and foraging medicinal herbs. We brewed up Cleavers, Elder leaves, Nettles and Daisy flowers on a gorgeous bonfire.
Thank you MCAM for getting funding and organising the day. Lovely crowd came a long.
Tasty vegan lunch provided by The Storehouse in Penicuik too.

The bees are happy today. Lots of pollen to load up with.
