Receptionist Required – Penicuik Podiatrist Clinic

We are looking for a receptionist to join our team at the Penicuik Podiatrist Clinic for two days a week.

We operate two clinics, in Penicuik and Peebles, and this role will be based in Penicuik while supporting the day-to-day running of both clinics.

This is a front-facing role where you will be:

Welcoming and assisting patients coming into the clinic
Making outgoing calls to patients
Booking and managing appointments across both locations

The position is offered at National Minimum Wage for an initial four-month period, followed by a performance assessment.

We are looking for someone who is:

Comfortable dealing with people in person and on the phone
Organised and reliable
Confident using basic computer systems

We had a power cut this morning at the clinic. We could not even get in as the shutter was er firmly closed.

We have recently taken over a second clinic in Peebles and are in the process of merging it with our existing clinic there. This is taking some time behind the scenes, and we appreciate everyone’s patience.

We would also like to welcome our new receptionist, who is working Tuesday and Thursday, helping us improve response times.

We took over the management of Bob Main’s clinic in Peebles on Monday 29th. This is one of several changes happening across our clinics at the moment.

Staffing updates (next ~6 weeks):
Kim and Ying are changing some of the behind-the-scenes work they do, which means their clinic days may be unpredictable. For the next month and a half we may not be able to guarantee who will be in which clinic on specific days.

Appointments:
We’re currently fully booked until around mid-February. If you’re trying to book, please check our online booking daily—appointments do sometimes become available when reminders go out 3 days before.

This applies to both Penicuik and Peebles, although we currently have more availability in Peebles.

Because of the changing availability and the third clinic we’ve just taken over, we may need to adjust some appointment times/days. If this affects you, we’ll be in touch.

We took over the management of Bob Main's clinic on Monday 29th. We are not going to be able to have any treatments in his clinic as planned as the work required is more than first thought.

We are phoning everyone overt the next two weeks, but for the moment if you have a booking at 9 Northgate please go to 1 Tweeddale Garage our main clinic at the same time and day.

To avoid any confusion you will be phoned from our number 01968 705097. If you need to contact us use the same number and choose option 1 and leave a message.

We are making several changes to the phones, Bob's Peebles number is being taken over but we expect it to be the end of next week before it is set up.

The Peebles Clinic opens on Monday, we are almost fully booked but still have two slots left. Plenty still on Wednesday afternoon and evening.

Penicuik has a few slots as well, 3 on Tuesday, 1 on Wednesday, 1 on Thursday and 2 on Friday.

Please do not book for Penicuik on Monday - we are having issues with the booking system and it is allowing bookings on Monday. Hope to have fixed soon, but Penicuik is now closed on Mondays.

The signs are not up yet in Peebles though should be in about a month.
