This morning I was thinking
- wow there’s so many people signed up today - amazing
- my head is like a merry go round
- omg I’m so wobbly
- why am I so wobbly
- wow that twist felt good
- they must all thing I live with a herd of elephants
- where the f**k did time go
- yikes savasana was way too short - big mistake🤦‍♀️

But the alternative could have been in these 45 mins scrolling, lying in bed not wanting to get up, frustrated with myself etc.

Morning yoga is life changing. It’s often imperfect. We are stiff, wobbly, got stuff going on. Yet you always leave feeling so much better.

Our Yin Yoga practice at the Solstice Stillness workshop next month will be focussing on the element of water and the Bladder and Kidney meridians. These are specific to winter and the solstice.

Here’s the lowdown of how they can impact you when out of balance and in balance…

Kidney Meridian

In Balance:
• Strong energy reserves, vitality
• Clear thinking and willpower
• Healthy bones, spine + reproductive health
• Deep sense of grounding and inner security

Out of Balance:
• Fatigue, burnout, low motivation
• Fearfulness, insecurity
• Lower-back pain, knee issues
• Hormonal or reproductive imbalances
• Poor sleep (especially early waking)

Emotional Theme:
• Fear ↔ Courage

Bladder Meridian

In Balance:
• Steady nervous system
• Good adaptability to stress
• Flexible body + flexible mind
• Efficient elimination and detox processes

Out of Balance:
• Anxiety, restlessness
• Tight neck/shoulders, hamstrings, spine tension
• Frequent UTIs or bladder discomfort
• Overwhelm, inability to “switch off”

Emotional Theme:
• Anxiety ↔ Ease

If you’d like to join the winter solstice workshop there’s just a few places left.

Here’s why yoga sets you up for a good day… in my opinion…

1. You do something positive for you (rather than scroll on your phone)
2. You move your body in a way that feels good and positive (rather than moving with a black cloud)
3. It loosens your body (so you’re not feeling stiff for the rest of the day)
4. Breathing - you spend 45 mins focussing on your breath- lovely healthy breathing meaning your body feels energised for the rest of the day
5. You’ve done it… ticked off your list… sense of achievement by 7.30am
6. You don’t even have to leave the house so you can feel smug and good and you’re still in your pjs
7. You can laugh at me whilst I get my cues wrong, change my mind half way through or forget which side

There’s so many positives to yoga first thing. Come and experience it with a free taster using the code ‘FREEPASS’ https://bookwhen.com/triciamurray and after that classes are £25 for 5 classes (or £7.50 drop in).

Thanks to the growing and lovely community in the mornings for all showing up. It’s been ace watching it grow.

Have a great day 🧘‍♀️🤸💕

This morning yoga was filled with all the interruptions I try to control and stop from happening. In fact often I’m running the session with a tiny background loop in a low level anxiety that Arthur will run in and destroy the session.

Yet Arthur arrived holding a Lego Santa and looking for his stick man book and was then not leaving ‘mum are you a teacher’ and pretending to snore🤦‍♀️🤣🤦‍♀️🤣

The dog arrived too!

And then I could see my dad phoning me midway through!

This was all on the back of a non perfect night of sleep and waking up thinking my phone wasn’t working.

Yet somehow losing attachment to everything being perfect, riding with it, knowing I’m doing my best…. Everything worked out perfectly imperfectly. And that’s the point of these morning sessions is that we all have kids, dogs, wake up from not sleeping well etc. This is life. We can’t stop it suddenly.

And here’s the other thing… in savasana I focussed solely on my own energy, on my breathing and on stillness - not on keeping Arthur quiet as I’ve learned over the years the more you try to stop your children speaking the louder they get. The thing is energy transfers… and through savasana Arthur became stiller and quieter.

Whilst it might look like I was doing a lot of yoga in my movement… way more was happening not in the movement but in my mind and breath.

This is the power of yoga. This is the everyday work.

Huge achievement for me yesterday walking up Ben A’an. We’ve stayed at the foot of it for many years but never felt able to manage it.

Yoga has given me the confidence in my body to try things and the mindset to focus and accomplish things and keep going. I spent most of it just focussing on my breath and taking it all in.

It was not an easy walk with lots of boulders and steps. My knee was playing up all week and I was conscious of it but kept thinking my knee is meant to walk… it’s meant to do this… how can I step more lightly or with more ease. I actually managed the cardio fine going up but took it super slow coming down because of my knee.

Most of all I was so chuffed we did it!!!

Classes are on as normal this week. Message me for a code for a free taster.

14/11/2025

I’ve just ‘landed’ away for a couple of nights with my husband. He’s still on calls for the next couple of hours so quickly writing this whilst the thought has landed (how I do my socials!).

But I want to share something.

The last 3/4 weeks I’ve been focussing on being well. Mainly doing less. Napping. Nidraing. Yogaing. Or and started circuits with Dianne!

My default is work. I’m a workaholic. Because work brings me joy. It literally excites me, makes me want to get up and I’d never do anything else.

I’d actually happily work way more. Do more classes. Work every weekend. Just do more. Train more. Practice more. More.

But i also have a family and busy life.

A few weeks back we had an absolute run of ‘bad’ luck - very much first world problems but my dog has been very unwell, issues I don’t want to share here, our van kept breaking down and all whilst my husband was away and my parents away. Add into that mix menopause (IYKYK).

I was really close to a proper burn out trying to keep everything together. There were no balls I could drop.

This last week I’ve actually felt super well. Like my brain is ticking away, my thoughts are crystal clear and I just feel like me.

But I’ve done minimal. Like enough to get through and that’s it. No pushing through. I even cancelled a class.

I could hear myself saying oh god you’re so lazy… you’ve literally done SFA. That lovely inner critic coming to keep me on my toes. Pushing me all the time.

But here’s what I’ve done. I’ve looked after me. And as I got on holiday I thought… I’ve got so much energy I hope we can maybe climb a Munro tomorrow and enjoy being outside for the weekend rather than getting on holiday literally doing nothing but sleeping and recovering. I also realised I’ve eaten so well all week as I’ve made time to cook and eat. And I’ve slept well most of this week (except Wednesday as I was waiting for my friend to give birth).

That’s the result of laziness - clear thinking, energy, being a nice person, feeling well…. I’ll take the laziness thank you.

Hope you have a lovely lazy weekend people ❤️❤️❤️
