We’re proud to share that Kingswell Surgery is now the 𝗢𝗡𝗟𝗬 practice in the 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐲 area to have its very own dedicated Mental Health Nurse on site.

This means you no longer need to wait for a GP referral to access mental health support. If you’re struggling, feeling low, or simply need someone to talk to, you can contact the surgery directly and book an appointment with our Mental Health Nurse.

📣 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩 𝐚𝐭 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐲

Are you a patient of 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐲 who would like to help shape how our practice supports you and the local community? We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our PPG (Patient Participation Group) — a voluntary role where patients meet every few months to:

🔹️Contribute ideas and feedback on how the surgery runs;

🔹️Organise fundraising events;

🔹️Highlight areas where we can improve the services we offer.

🔵 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝗣𝗣𝗚 𝗱𝗼?

It gives patients a voice and ensures the surgery is responsive to patient needs.

It helps the practice improve communication, facilities and health-promotion activities.

It is not a forum for personal complaints about individual treatments, but a space for broader feedback and service-improvement.

Make a real difference to the care and experience of patients at the surgery and in the local community.

Work with a friendly, committed team of patients and practice staff.

Attend meetings every few months — we keep things low-key and positive.

We’d love to have a wide range of volunteers so our group truly represents all our patients: different ages, backgrounds, health-needs, and life-experiences.

Local NHS and council services in Barnsley, are operating a mobile blood pressure service called ‘How’s Thi Ticker’, which travels around local neighbourhoods, including barber shops, supermarkets, and community centres.

🎉 SUMMER 2023 NEWSLETTER🎉

In this edition we meet our lovely receptionist Rebecca. We feel its important that you get to meet our fabulous team.

In every newsletter we will be highlighting lesser known diseases and health conditions. In this edition we highlight Marfans Syndrome.

As the sun is finally starting to shine you may be considering a summer holiday so we have included some important travel advise.

As always the newsletters will be available in the reception area as well as on our notice board on the foyer.
