Kingswell patient participation group (PPG) is a group of patients with the aim of promoting co-operation and communication between the practice and the patients for the benefit of both. The PPG is made up of patient representatives, a GP from the practice, a representative from the practice staff including the lead receptionist and practice manager. The core objectives of the group are:
Facilitate dialogue between patients and practice staff
Collect feedback from patients about current health service provision, with suggestions on how the service can be improved
Review and provide advice and recommendations on the practice patient survey
Ensure that patient information and advice are readily available, clearly presented, and if possible are available in languages which meet the needs of all patients
Ensure patients needs are considered in the development of the practice systems, ie appointment and telephone systems
Ensure the needs of all patient groups are taken into consideration, including people with specific illnesses, conditions or disabilities. Support the practice to achieve its health promotion aims
Represent the patient body when called upon to do so.
