My Community- Penrith 'My Community' is all about us, our community, working together & creating positive change. (We do not try to imitate anybody, only support what they are doing)

My Community is a Royal initiative brought to thanks to funding. We are employed by , our aim is to work with the community to find out what is good, what could be better and use co production to help make Penrith a better place for people with a learning disability and everyone to live. We work with other groups and occasionally you will see us promoting events from other groups that we have supported, either through co producing something new or by funding Launch events.

Yesterday afternoon William & Jack went to The Alhambra Cinema - Penrith with My Community- Penrith to watch the Sheep Detectives movie, they then did a little interview for a podcast with the lovely My Community Penrith.

The boys are looking forward to going in when our incubators hatch and taking some ducklings in and talking all about William & Jacks ducks, geese, bantams, hens and eggs.

Thank you so much for them treating William & Jack like little VIPs, they enjoyed the afternoon and loved meeting you all.

Oxford Archeology are excited to announce therlir upcoming Early Medieval Open Event at Kirkby Thore on Saturday 16th May 2026.
For the first time, they’ll be opening the gates to one of the live A66 archaeology excavations and inviting the public directly onto site to explore the discoveries being made there. The excavation is investigating early medieval activity in the landscape following the end of Roman Britain, and visitors will have the chance to hear directly from the archaeologists working on the site.
The day will include:
Guided archaeological tours of the excavation
Early medieval reenactors and living history
Finds displays and interpretation
Family friendly activities and opportunities to speak with archaeologists.
