Last week our lovely dental nurse Rebecca visited local nurseries and schools to share her knowledge of oral health with the children 🦷✨
She had a great time talking about healthy teeth, brushing routines, and how to look after those smiles from a young age.

A big thank you to Rebecca for taking the time to go, and thank you to Beaconside School, Milburn School, and Penrith Pre School for welcoming her and letting her talk to the children. We loved being involved and spreading the message of happy, healthy smiles! 😁💙

Keith has been a patient of ours for 72 years ⭐

During a recent visit to the practice, he shared this remarkable milestone with us, so we took the opportunity to sit down with him and listen as he reminisced about his many years with us. Keith first began seeing Arthur and Keith Sharp at 3 Little Dockray, before following the practice to Brunswick Square, where he briefly saw Mr Walton and then went on to be treated by Mr Lewis.
He remembers visiting the practice at just 12 years old, accompanied by his sister, who was 4 at the time. Keith fondly recalls the good crack with Mr Lewis at Brunswick and still enjoys catching up with him when he visits us here at Ghyllmount. He also remembers visiting the school dentist as a boy, where treatment took place in a wooden chair set up next to the classroom and gas and air was used. Keith attended Calthwaite School and has lived in Calthwaite for 85 years. He is proud to say that he still has all of his own teeth. It was truly lovely to see Keith and spend time listening to his memories. Thank you, Keith, for 72 years of continued support.

Last week, Head Nurse Foss and Dental Nurse Lucy delivered some in house training for the nursing team, focusing on waste management within the practice and correct disposal procedures. It was a great refresher and helped keep everything fresh in everyone’s minds.

The admin team also got involved and performed really well, which was great to see. The session was followed by a cross-infection quiz, and everyone did an excellent job. Well done to all involved ⭐
