We recently opened our doors to over 20 students who were invited from local secondary schools for a veterinary focused careers information event here at our Dalston practice 🙌

Throughout the evening, attendees and their family members were able to hear from both veterinary clinicians and non-clinical support staff about the practice, the different sectors and their individual career journeys, as well as learn more about career opportunities and support for young people in the Cumbria area from LANSS, Myerscough College and Cumbria Future Generations Group.

They were able to see all four of our sectors represented - Small Animal, Large Animal, Equine and Advanced Breeding who led informative demonstrations, while students participated in interactive activities and enjoyed question and answer opportunities throughout the evening ✨

We're looking forward to hosting another event like this in our Newbiggin branch in 2026! 👋

It's the time of year where cattle are brought in for winter, here is a reminder of what to bear in mind if you are thinking of using our ET/ IVF services in the upcoming weeks 👇

🎋 Cattle should be fed a balanced diet, avoiding high protein diets.

🐮 Donors should be in a settled management system from four weeks prior to the start of the programme until after the flush has taken place.

💉 Routine treatments such as vaccinations, worming, foot trimming or mixing of groups of cattle should also be avoided during the programme.
