There was some friendly competition at Foxy’s Adventure Golf in Penrith yesterday. Amy took the win, and Adele’s already asking for a rematch!

Our Adventure Companions service helps people get out and about, enjoy new experiences, and stay connected with their community. Whether it’s a coffee, a walk or a day out, a little company can make all the difference. 💙

🚴‍♀️ Cycling Update 🚴‍♀️

We are mid way through the month and we are making progress although slightly slower than I’d hoped but progress all the same ☺️.

Many thanks to everyone who has been kind enough to donate so far, I’m hopeful we will meet our £400 target which goes towards the four fantastic charities we have chosen.

A Pirate’s Life for Us! 🏴‍☠️☀️⚓

Shiver me timbers, Elizabeth and her Adventure Companion, Adele, set sail on the high seas of Cyprus yesterday aboard a real pirate ship! 🌊

There was sunshine, sea breeze and plenty of laughter as they joined the crew for a day of music, dancing and swashbuckling fun. Elizabeth even took the helm for a while, steering the ship like a true captain! ☠️⛵

With Adele keeping a steady hand on deck, the pair had a fantastic time enjoying the views and the warm Cypriot sunshine. Another brilliant day of adventure, friendship and unforgettable memories! 💛

Bringing Colour to Care 🎨

Today was the final day of our six-week Art Club at Cliburn Village Hall, and what a lovely few weeks it’s been!

We’d like to say a huge thank you to The Arts Society Appleby-in-Westmorland for organising and funding the project, and to our wonderful art teacher, Annie Quicke - Artist , for her kindness, patience and inspiration each week.

Thank you also to Cliburn Village Hall for being so welcoming and letting us use such a great space, and to all the Eden Country Care staff who made it possible for clients to attend, offering support, lifts and, of course, baking those amazing homemade cakes! 🍰

The group’s final piece, inspired by the Eden Valley and Penrith landscape, will soon be on display at The Appleby Hub for everyone to enjoy.

It’s been full of laughter, creativity and friendship, a real reminder that care is about so much more than just support at home. 💛

Another update from Cyprus ☀️

Scooter skills: 0
Laughter: 10

Adele and Elizabeth hired an electric scooter to explore the island, but things didn’t quite go as planned...
They were meant to go backwards but accidentally went forwards… straight into the sand dunes!

After laughing their heads off (and doing a bit of digging), they made it safely back and enjoyed a lovely meal together in the evening, though both were tucked up in bed by 8pm after all the excitement 😃

Tomorrow they’re swapping scooters for a boat trip and continuing their island adventures together. ☀️🌊

🚴‍♀️ Cycle Challenge Update 🚴‍♀️

I’m not sure why I look so happy 😁!!

Those 10 miles were hard today, my legs were sore and tired from workouts earlier this week. It was a slow 10 miles but I made it! Mia even managed a mile too!

Total so far from the Team is 31 miles so not a bad start ❤️.

🚴‍♀️ We’re Cycling the Circumference of Cumbria! 🚴‍♂️

This October, our Eden Country Care team are taking on the challenge of cycling all the way around Cumbria to raise money for four incredible charities that mean so much to us 💙

✨ In memory of Colette’s dad, we’re supporting MS Society and Dementia UK
✨ For Chris, we’re supporting Eden Valley Hospice – who cared for his mum and Oak Tree Animal Charity.

Every mile we ride is for them, and for the amazing work these charities do every single day.
