We have been doing some really exciting work at Cumbria Quality Care!!!

7 of us recently attended the most wonderful training and all 7 of us passed and achieved trainer status and are now able to deliver this to our full staff team 🥰

Attachment & Trauma Informed, Behaviour Support Training has been one of the most interesting training we have done and Proactive Approaches and our trainer have been fantastic.

The training is going to provide our already amazing staff team with even more knowledge, skills and understanding and enable them to provide the best care possible to those that we support 🥰

Just to clarify following an article in the paper for a new day service, Cumbria Quality Care has NOT closed. We recently made the difficult decision to close our day services. This was due to continued growth in other areas of our business and us needing to utilise the day services room as further office space. We supported the existing day services manager we employed to launch her own day service alongside another staff member, which is being advertised in the paper.

The article states their launch was following the closure of Cumbria Quality Care and not the closure of Cumbria Quality Cares Day services as it should have.

We are still very much here and continuing to operate our services for children and young adults with complex needs 🥰

Absolutely thrilled to announce that today Chloe Gallagher has received confirmation from Care Quality Commissions that she is now the new Registered Manager of Cumbria Quality Care!!!!

Chloe has worked so hard since she joined the CQC family and will be an amazing Registered Manager!!!

After holding this role myself for the past 13 years, I couldn’t be happier to hand the baton on to such an amazing person who truly understands our ethos and is so passionate about ensuring we provide the absolute best care to those that we support.

Well done Chloe 🥰

It’s is with sadness that we have made the decision to close our wonderful day services.

As a management team we have grown and now unfortunately, we need the day services room as office space.

We wanted to do all that we could to ensure the service could continue and approached our day services manager Stephanie Graham with the idea of her launching her own independent service.

We are very pleased to announce that Stephanie, along side Helen Hodgson are launching Daffodil Day Centre and we wish them the very best with this new and exciting venture.

Our last day of service will be Friday 5th of September.

We would like to thank everyone who has been a part of Cumbria Quality Care Day Centre throughout its time of operating.

We have met the most wonderful people who have attended our service and have loved getting to know each and every one of them and their families.

It has been wonderful to see all the activities, fun and laughter people have had within the service.

Over the years we have received fantastic support by local musicians, artists, volunteers and UCC students and have received a fantastic array of donations such as arts and crafts and not forgetting Greggs weekly sweet bakes 🍰 we thank you all for the amazing support our community has given us.

Cumbria Quality Care staff have done an amazing job within the service and whilst Stephanie and Helen are moving onto their new venture, our two apprentices Grace and Fearne have successfully completed the Health and Social Care Level 2 Diplomas and are moving onto work within our children and supported living services.

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of Cumbria Quality Care Day Services, we will miss you!!!!

Cumbria Quality Care was presented with the exciting opportunity to support the MACs charity with their annual trip to Calvert Lakes!

The MACs charity is run by, and for, parents of children who were born with Microphthalmia (small eye/s), Anophthalmia (no eye/s) or Coloboma (a cleft in the eye/s) or a combination of these conditions.

MACS helps over 3,000 people from more than 1,000 families across the UK, supporting them at every stage of their journey by providing peer support, practical help and opportunities to take part in life-changing activity trips.

Our brilliant team had the opportunity to support these brave young people to get involved in lots of different activities: rock and rope, ghyll scrambling, canoeing, archery and more!

Everyone had a great time away, and we were so happy to be able to support these amazing young people to have the best holiday.

Good luck to our brave ladies from Cumbria Quality Care Day services team for tomorrow when they take on the huge task of the Infinity Bridge walk to raise money for a charity very close to all of our hearts, The Alzheimer’s Society. Go on ladies, you’ll smash it!!! Sad that our 2 wonderful apprentices, Grace and Fearne, have had to drop out last minute due to having covid, but safety of others comes first. They, along with the rest of the CQC family will be thinking of the very brave Steph, Helen and Margaret facing their fears tomorrow and smashing this challenge!!!! Best of luck ladies, cannot wait to see the photos xx
