Some customer stories just hit different.

Brian bought our cards for years for Marjorie. Each birthday, anniversary, Valentine’s Day and Christmas, he would buy her the exact same card and she ADORED it. His orders would arrive every few months and we would always smile when we saw them.

Until they stopped coming in.

We were all secretly a little bit worried about them both and always hoped that they were ok.

Late last year, we had a new order from Brian, but this time it was for a new card, for JEAN!

And this began a whole new tradition for a whole new love story.

And we all breathed a sigh of relief to hear that Brian and Marjorie (and Jean) are healthy and happy

And this is why we love what we do -Because for a brief moment, we get to be a tiny part of our customers’ stories. 💖

We are on a mission to bring back joy-filled happy post- think handwritten letters, notes and greetings cards.

Any ideas?!? 🤷😆

This has to be our weirdest review to date.

But they still gave it 5 stars, so they must’ve liked the card, right?!

While we’re on the subject of reviews, there’s now a review button on our website. If you’ve ever purchased one of our cards and would like to leave a review, simply go to the product page and click “leave a review”. Bonus points for using real words, not like the review on the last slide.

I would NEVER give my husband a 25p Valentine’s card.

I’d rather spend more and get a high quality, well made, personalised card that reflects my feelings.

I’d rather buy something made by a real person, quality-checked and made to my specifications.

I’d definitely rather NOT buy something that’s giving “convenience” vibes. I want him to open the card and know I went to the effort of choosing something just for him.

I’d rather buy a card that he can’t bear to throw away- something he’ll want to hold on to forever.

Our Valentine’s collection is now live, BTW! Check it out and save future-you from having to buy a supermarket card.

In a world over-saturated with generic, churned-out, AI-generated rubbish, we’re here to say that the world needs more whimsy.

Pantone’s colour of the year is “Cloud Dancer” (aka: vanilla) — a soft and simple backdrop, a blank canvas, neutral and inoffensive.

Marketplace websites are full of quantity over quality; with some sellers churning out copies of real artists’ work (including copies of ours 😩) and reselling mass-produced tat they bought from China.

Instagram is awash with micro-trends which make everyone’s content look the same. We are all being told to “follow this trend” and “steal this content idea”, post more noise, be like everyone else… blah blah blah…

It’s a total snooze fest. 😴

But we say embrace the whimsy. Bring on the quirky. This world needs more of it.

So, if you join our paper-appreciating, small business supporting community, what can you expect?

Choosing quality over quantity? Heck yes! 🙌

Gifts wrapped in ribbons and brown paper instead of plastic? 🎀 Of course!

Ridiculously intricate laser cut cards in bright colours? Why not?!

Content written by real humans with real opinions, not AI? 100% Yes! 👏

Posting less but with more meaning? Absolutely 👍

So here are 2 graphics I drew with my own hands. Feel free to share them!

PSA: JANUARY BIRTHDAYS DESERVE BETTER!

If your loved one has a birthday in January, you need to listen up.

January may be a month of being skint, cold, miserable, teetotal or cake-free, but those January babies have had to wait 11 months for any gifts.

So do their birthday justice by NOT re-gifting that unwanted smelly set or wrapping their gift in the last of the Christmas wrapping paper.

Get them a thoughtful birthday card, show up and party like it’s June, July or August.

As a December baby (the second-worst birthday month), I feel like it’s ok for me to speak on behalf of ALL January-born folk too- we’re in this together! 💪

We’re still waiting for the go-ahead to get to the workshop to assess the damage but there are some pretty massive trees blocking both roads at the moment.

Apparently parts of our town and several of the local villages will remain without power until Sunday, and we’re not sure if the workshop is included in this- it had no power or phones when we left yesterday.

Thanks for bearing with us. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Stay safe, folks.

Here’s the thing…

If you buy a handmade greetings card you’re going to get something WAY more thoughtful, personal and unique than if you buy just any old card while you do your grocery shopping.

Buy handmade cards, show your recipient how much you care AND support a small business. What’s not to love?

Feel free to share this with anyone that needs the reminder.

Funny story…

Last year, we discovered that a massive seller on a huge marketplace platform has been using our photographs and (badly) photoshopping mockups of their own laser cut card designs over the top of our cards.

The thing is, not only do we design everything in-house from scratch, we also cut and photograph real life cards for our product images. Each design is carefully tested and refined before we list them.

Their shop is full of mock-ups, quickly plonked on top of other people’s images. It’s just plain lazy and tbh I’m sick of it.

Fast forward a few months and I’ve just spent my Christmas break photographing our cards in all sorts of different angles and positions to try to stop them stealing our images any more.

*Insert evil laugh* 🤭

Judging by their photoshopping skills, they aren’t going to be able to put their “designs” onto our images this time.

AND it’s made me level-up our photography. This sneak peek is all you’re getting for now as we’re still photographing and editing the rest- what do you think?
