Lucinda Yoga I offer weekly yoga classes, workshops, teacher training, retreats, one-to-ones and meditation classes in the Penryn and Falmouth area. All are welcome!

Lucinda combines dynamic sequencing with uplifting philosophy to help students connect with their own hearts. Her creative approach to teaching draws on a mixture of ancient yogic philosophy and contemporary texts to bring spiritual wisdom to her students in a way that is meaningful to their everyday lives.

🌿Yoga Retreat in Tuscany, August 1-8🌿
There are different aspects to a yoga retreat, so each day this week, I’d like to share one of those aspects in a little more detail. Today, I’ll talk about the beautiful surroundings.

The retreat takes place in Chiusi della Verna in Tuscany. Set in the national park of the Casentine Forests beneath the sacred mountain of La Verna, this is the perfect retreat for nature and yoga lovers. This is wild Tuscany, off the beaten track, quiet, peaceful and surrounded by nature - what’s not to love?!

For those interested in living sustainably, out hosts live just a 10 minute walk further down the track and are happy to show you around their small holding, with goats, chickens, a cow and a well-established vegetable garden. Ben and Sophie appeared on Ben Fogle’s series, ’New Lives in the Wild’ and what they have achieved there is truly inspiring.

You may decide to take a gentle stroll down the mountain track to a nearby pool to dangle your feet, take a plunge, or simply enjoy cooling off under the leafy green canopy. The venue is located on a pilgrim’s route, so there are plenty of scenic walks or hike’s on your doorstep for the more serious walker.

Accommodation is in a 17th century rustic, carefully restored to maintain a sense of its original character and charm.

Lucinda has been teaching for 20 years and is passionate about yoga, meditation and nature! Her influences include Ayurveda, Buddhism, Anusara and Iyengar. Her teaching aims to enhance strength and flexibility, as well as good alignment for a healthy body in asana. All classes are taught in the context of the underlying spiritual teachings of yoga for a healthy, balanced and joyful mind.

🌿Yoga Retreat in Tuscany, August 1-8🌿
There are different aspects to a yoga retreat, so each day this week, I’d like to share one of those aspects in a little more detail. Today, I’ll talk about the Delicious Meals!

All meals (vegetarian) and refreshments are provided. We are blessed to have the lovely Valentina to oversee food preparation. And since Valentina is Italian born and bred, she really knows her stuff and the menu is both wholesome AND inspired by Italian recipes - yum!

Some meals are prepared together, which we have found to be a great community experience - bonding, learning (it’s worth learning how to cook those gorgeous recipes), and an opportunity to share and to contribute - an all round fun and enjoyable experience.

There is a beautiful outdoor space for eating and there is nothing better than lingering at the table after dinner to continue those great conversations and relaxing as you digest.

There is also an outdoor pizza oven, so on the last day, there is a little farewell party with freshly prepared stone-baked pizzas and plenty of nutritious salad dishes.

🌿Yoga Retreat in Tuscany, August 1-8🌿
There are different aspects to a yoga retreat, so each day this week, I’d like to share one of those aspects in a little more detail. Today, I’ll talk about the free time!

There is a schedule of daily yoga and meditation practices, but we have also allowed periods of free time for you to enjoy the wonderful space and surrounding areas. You might like to:

- dangle your feet in the cool water of the natural pool in the surrounding forest, just a short walk away
- take a refreshing dip or go swimming in a nearby pool with a waterfall
- bring your paints and sketch pad and spend the afternoons being creative
- visit the Monastery where St Francis of Assisi is said to have received his stigmata
- go hiking on the pilgrim route through the forest, which passes right by the retreat venue
- relax!

🌿Yoga Retreat in Tuscany, August 1-8🌿
There are different aspects to a yoga retreat, so each day this week, I’d like to share one of those aspects in a little more detail. Today, I’ll talk about the Meditation.

Each morning, we begin the day gently in sacred silence as preparation for a brief meditation practice before yoga. In the afternoons, there is a longer meditation practice, including seated, standing and walking meditation. Some of this takes place outdoors in nature, overlooking the mountains beyond. The setting is vast and expansive, beautifully supporting the practice and inspiring for the mind.

The meditation sessions are suitable for all levels of experience.

Lucinda has been studying and practising Buddhist Meditation for nearly 30 years and runs Meditation Practice Weeks Online throughout the year.

🌿Yoga Retreat in Tuscany, August 1-8🌿
There are different aspects to a yoga retreat, so each day this week, I’d like to share one of those aspects in a little more detail. Today, I’ll talk about the yoga (since it’s a yoga retreat!!)

There are 2 yoga practices daily, first thing in the morning and late afternoon before dinner. The morning practice is more dynamic, each day a little different, to allow time for all the different kinds of poses, such as standing, seated, backbends and forward bends. The practice is tailored to the needs of the students on retreat and modifications are offered for those that need them. It’s a great way to start the day and everyone feeds back that they feel great for having done some yoga every day for a week. It’s also an opportunity to improve your practice or simply to get into the habit of practising regularly.

Afternoon sessions include a brief restorative practice in preparation for pranayama and meditation.

Lucinda has been teaching for 20 years and is passionate about yoga! She draws on her knowledge of Ayurveda, as well as different teaching styles, such as Anusara and Iyengar. Her teaching aims to enhance strength and flexibility, as well as good alignment for a healthy body; all classes are taught in the context of the underlying spiritual teachings of yoga for a healthy, balanced and joyful mind.
