Yoga is on at 6pm this evening at the Zedshed, Penryn. In the coming weeks, we'll be exploring the Vayus, also known as the Sub-Pranas.
In the words of David Frawley, "To change something, we must alter the energy which creates it. To bring about positive changes in body and mind we must understand the energy through which they work."
Each week, we'll take one of the Vayus as our theme. Working through a series of postures (and sometimes breathing techniques) the aim will be to enable good flow of prana in that area and in this way promote wellbeing in body and mind.
This week's Vayu is Apana, responsible for elimination, or in other words anything that needs to move down and out both physically and emotionally. The practice will include hip openers and postures to stretch the lower belly and back.
