People receiving tax credits are being moved to Universal Credit. It is important to note that Universal Credit does not automatically entitle patients to help with their health costs.

To continue being entitled to free NHS prescriptions, patients must meet the Universal Credit criteria for help with health costs or qualify under another valid exemption reasons.

Hendra Pharmacy in Market Street is open tomorrow morning as normal. The pharmacist is able to give both private and free NHS flu vaccinations to eligible patients.

The cost of a private vaccine is £20.

We will be holding free flu vaccination clinics on Saturday mornings during October. These will be for eligible NHS patients AND private flu vaccinations for non-eligible patients.

Unused medicines expire and might not work as intended, meaning your care might be compromised.

Stockpiling medicines worsens drug shortages.

When you dispose of medicines properly, by handing them in to your pharmacy, you are helping to make sure that waste medicines do not pollute our rivers and seas.

Only ordering what you need means that you are helping the environment because once medicines have left the pharmacy, they cannot be recycled or used by anyone else.

The good news is there is a lot we can do to tackle medicines waste, and everyone can play a part.
