When you think about core training and stretching, you probably think about the front or back of your body. However, you should also be thinking about spinal mobility and especially lateral flexion!

1) Lateral flexion will help you to breathe more efficiently (ie the intercostal muscles, located between the ribs, are mainly involved in the mechanical aspect of breathing by expanding & compressing ! ) so a good stretch will help to increase ease of motion too.

2) Our internal and external obliques sit on the sides of the abdomen; they provide stability and control to the torso while it twists, turns, and bends. So moving laterally will help stabilising your trunk and your pelvis whilst walking, running etc!
Again making for instance your running more efficient !

3) IT simply feels good ! After a good lateral stretch you will just feel taller afterwards and often lower back pain will over time disappears as u losen up all that compression that builds up over time on your lumber spine.

Feet are amazing, carrying us around all day. Nevertheless we generally neglect them.

Two common foot issues are bunions & pilantarfasciites! To keep your feet in shape here are some quick tips:

Bunions!
1. Wear shoes with a wide toe box and avoid high heels or tight shoes.
2. Choose shoes with good arch support and cushioning.
3. Consider orthotics or shoe inserts if you have flat feet or other foot issues.

Plantar Fasciitis
1. Stretch your feet and calves regularly, especially before and after exercise.
2. Wear shoes with good arch support and cushioning.
3. Avoid overexertion or repetitive strain on your feet.
4. Try toe curls and heel raises to strengthen your foot muscles.
5. Use Franklin balls daily and roll your feet over them

Bea has run her studio since 2013 and has grown from a “just” Mat based Pilates studio to a studio that incorporates all Pilates apparatus.
You can book private sessions as well as group classes on Mat and Reformer ! Her team is well equipped with tools and expertise to cater for all abilities, age and gender.

Welcome to mytime !

Our contemporary studio is set against a backdrop of rural Kent countryside, only 20 minutes from Tunbridge Wells. Bea and her team believe it offers the perfect environment in which to restore physical and mental balance through a wide range of Pilates classes- 30 a week , yes !
MTP offers mat based Pilates classes and Reformer based Pilates classes. Additionally Bea offers private (1:1) or semi private (2:1) all apparatus Pilates in her private salon - or clients call it “the torture chamber “.

Mytime Pilates is also a member of the world-renowned Polestar training programme.

Set in the gorgeous Kent countryside, this workshop is designed to empower, uplift + nourish you.

You will learn how to build a strong body with an energising strength session with Sarah. And experience how to connect with your body through Pilates with Bea.

A delicious nourishing lunch will be served by , then to complete the experience you will enjoy a sauna, cold water plunge + hot tub in Penshurst’s ancient woodlands .

MTP is kicking off the new year with a couple of workshops before the start of the new term January 6th !

This is a workshop where Bea will be teaching Joseph Pilates classical routine and repertoire on top of some insides to deepen your understanding of Joseph Pilates original created work called Crontology.

As 2024 comes to a close, we have been reflecting on the highlights the year has brought us. ✨

We have welcomed new teachers and new clients, hosted incredible workshops and retreats and really built on the relationships in our lovely MyTime Pilates community. 💖

Naya has been providing all her emotional support, our wonderful Sarah got engaged and we celebrated an amazing 11 years of our studio!

Last Friday we celebrated an amazing 11 years of MyTime Pilates! It was an evening of laughter and awards for our amazing clients and teachers.

We can’t thank you enough for your love and support - cheers!

When Bea opened her studio she wanted it to be a space that was inclusive and welcoming which we feel we have achieved!

Our clients are eclectic and diverse, such a wonderful group of people. We couldn’t do it without our amazing teachers here at MTP for their endless energy and incredible talents as instructors.

We would also like to give a big thank you to and catering for supplying the most delicious food and also a thank you to Claudia for her amazing ginger bread men award biscuits!
