During Neurodiversity Celebration Week, we want to reaffirm our commitment to being a supportive, inclusive, and patient pair of hands for the neurodivergent community.

Whether it is navigating the sensory challenges of a funeral service or requiring specific communication styles during the arrangement process, our team is here to adapt to your needs.

Our family are heartbroken 💔 from the loss of one of the strongest women that our family had the privilege to know and be loved by. Joyce, came to this earth with a beautiful kind gracious soul, a force of nature, whom will be missed and cherished forever. 💕

As a family we are so grateful for having Joyce in our lives. We will always respect and love all Joyce has given us, and all the wisdom she imparted. We will miss her love, her smile, her warmth, her directness and her strength.

Our family will be celebrating Joyce’s life on Monday, 23rd March at 2.30pm at St Mary Church, Church Avenue, Penwortham, Preston PR1 0AH. If you knew Joyce and would like join us and pay your respects you are welcome. 🙏

As a family we will not be wearing black to Joyce’s funeral, she was a woman of colour and style and we want to celebrate Joyce’s life with the beauty she brought to the world.

Sue passed peacefully in her sleep at Ribble Court Nursing Home on 3 March 2026, aged 76.

Beloved wife of John; devoted and loving mum of Vanessa and Ian, special mother-in-law to Barry and James; dear sister to Christine, Barbara, Keith and Janice; and an irrepressible and irreplaceable friend to many. We remember Sue's laughter, love of singing and dancing, and her selfless devotion to her family and all who knew her.

A service to celebrate Sue's life will be held at Charnock Richard Crematorium on Wednesday, 18 March at 10:30 am. All are welcome to attend, in person or online.

Let's hear it for the girls 💪

Today on International Womens Day, we aren’t just celebrating a date on the calendar; we are celebrating the incredible women who work tirelessly to support our families and the team as a whole.

It’s no secret that the funeral profession has historically been a male-dominated one. Even today, our female colleagues have occasionally faced outdated prejudices throughout their careers. They’ve been told "this isn't women's work" and have frequently been asked, "So, when are the men coming?"

To our female funeral directors, arrangers, and operatives: Your presence is the answer to that question. You bring a unique blend of strength, grace, and empathy to families during their darkest hours. You prove every day that "women’s work" is whatever a woman chooses to do. Especially when that work requires the utmost courage and compassion.

To the wives and partners of our team members: We also want to take a moment to recognise you. This profession often demands long nights, missed dinners, and "on-call" interruptions. Your behind-the-scenes support is what allows our team to serve this community so well. You are an integral part of the Neal Buckley Funerals family.

Words from Margaret - “John was and always will be the love of my life. He was the best most loving husband and father anyone could wish for. His humour, mischievous and fun nature will never be forgotten by his family and friends. We request that colour be worn to celebrate his life at his funeral service.”
