Do you want to join our fantastic team?

We are currently recruiting for a Funeral Operative to join our team on a full-time basis.

Role details:
• Full-time hours
• Participation in a 1 in 4 out-of-hours on-call rota
• Full clean UK driving licence is an absolute necessity
• Applicants must be over 25 years of age to meet our fleet insurance requirements
• Experience preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided

*Please note: this is a physically demanding role.*

This position would suit someone who is compassionate, reliable, and able to work as part of a supportive team, providing a professional and caring service to families at a difficult time.

Much-loved Daughter, Sister, Auntie, Neice, colleague and friend to many.

Ellie and her vibrant personality will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Funeral Service at St Mary Magdelenes Parish Church, Ribbleton on Tuesday 10th February 2026 at 10.30am. In memory of Ellie please do not feel the need to wear mourning clothes, she would want you to “dress your best”.

Beloved husband of Doreen, much-loved father to Graeme, Tracey and Joanne, father-in-law to Sandra, Gareth and Ian, devoted grandfather (Pops) to Matthew, Henry, Abigail, Nicola, Alistair, Howard, Benjamin and Elysia and great-grandfather.

Geoff will be sadly missed by all his family and friends.

A much-loved wife to Andy, devoted mother to Sheena, loving grandmother to Andrea and Michelle, and cherished great-grandmother to five wonderful great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly.

Loving Husband, Dad, Grandfather and Great Grandfather.

Passed peacefully at St Catherine's Hospice, Lancashire on Saturday, 17th January 2026

A kind, gentle, intelligent and considerate man. At 98 years young, he lived a full and happy life surrounded by close family, friends and the Church, which meant a great deal to him.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the ongoing love, support, and messages they have received since his passing.

Funeral service at Preston Crematorium on February 2nd at 10.30am, followed by a thanksgiving service in his beloved United Reformed Church at 11.30. All are welcome to come and celebrate Hugh's life and share memories with family and friends.

You’ll walk past someone who’s grieving today; someone who is carrying the ghost of love.

And the ghost of love is heavy: it makes the easy things difficult, and the difficult things unbearable. It weighs on every breath, every step and every turn that we take. It can make the every-day exhausting.

For some people, the ghost is a new acquaintance, and they carry it on their shoulders.
Unknown and unfamiliar, it is finding its place. Figuring out how to settle here forever.

For some it is an old friend, and they carry it in their arms.
It’s almost pleasant and overly-familiar, but it can still grow heavy; and that’s when it starts to ache.

And for some, it has become a part of who they are.
It walks beside them; love hand-in-hand with grief.

You’ll walk past someone who’s grieving today; someone weighed down by an invisible heaviness that they carry.
It’s new and it’s old,
and then it’s old that becomes new all over again in a heartbeat.

Because, no matter how long they have known it,
that is truly where they carry it.

Not on their shoulders.
Not in their arms.

But always,
always
in their heart.
