Hi, I'm Joseph. I’m a breathwork, qigong, and transformational coach, guiding people through The Alive Life—a space for healing, growth, and high-vibe living. When I’m not coaching, you’ll find me soaking in nature, dancing to good music, or walking my dog along the stunning Cornish coast, where I live. I’m also a Taoist, surfer, and creative spirit who loves exploring new ways to live vibrantly and mindfully. For me, life is about healthy living, spreading high vibes and getting the most out of life. my journey

My journey has been deeply personal and, at times, incredibly challenging. I’ve faced fatigue, depression, disconnection, lack of motivation, and even moments of suicidal ideation. It was during these times that I discovered breathwork, movement, and holistic tools that would later become the foundation of my transformation. Through these practices, I’ve learned how to manage stress, improve my sleep, and boost my energy levels. Beyond the physical, I’ve experienced profound shifts— reprogramming my mind, and healing past traumas that were holding me back. These tools have empowered me to build a life I truly love—one grounded in gratitude and peace, even during life’s inevitable storms. Now, I’m passionate about sharing this wisdom with others so they can find their own path to healing and fulfilment. my mission

My mission is simple: to help people reconnect with their inner wisdom through the breath—specifically through the flow of qi, prana, or life-force energy that exists within all of us. Breathwork and qigong are powerful gateways to this connection, and I believe they hold the key to unlocking our full potential. Having gone through my own journey, I know how life-changing these practices can be. They are more than just tools for wellness; they are pathways to greater self-awareness, healing, and balance. Ever experience shortness of breath? 😮‍💨

That feeling of “air hunger” can be overwhelming, but did you know it’s often linked to your body’s tolerance to CO2? 🌬️ When your body struggles to handle rising CO2 levels, you may feel breathless—even when you’ve got plenty of oxygen.

The good news? You can train your body to become more CO2 tolerant!

By practising specific breathwork exercises like walking apnea (where you hold your breath while walking 🚶‍♂️), you can train your body to handle CO2 better and reduce shortness of breath.

With consistent practice, you’ll notice improvements quickly. The more you train, the easier it gets to breathe deeply and calmly, even in stressful situations. 🌿

Feeling mentally scattered? 🌀

It’s easy to get lost in a whirlwind of thoughts, especially in a time where distractibility and overstimulation can feel overwhelming.

One powerful practice to help calm the mind is alternate nostril breathing (anulom vilom). 🌿 This simple technique works wonders by balancing brain hemispheres, improving focus, and calming the nervous system.

To do it:

1. Sit comfortably and use your right thumb to gently block your right nostril.

2. Inhale slowly through your left nostril.

3. Close the left nostril with your ring finger and release your thumb, exhaling through your right nostril.

4. Inhale through the right, switch, and exhale through the left. 🌬️

Research shows how this practice reduces heart rate and increases oxygen flow to the brain, helping to regulate the breath and bring more mental clarity. 🧠✨

For those with ADHD, this can be a grounding tool to help reduce hyperactivity and distractions, allowing for a calmer, more focused state. I personally find the act of using my hands to open and close the nostrils very engaging.

Similarly, inspire comes from the Latin inspirare, meaning "to breathe into" or "to take in spirit." Every breath we take is a sacred connection to the life force, the energy that sustains us. It’s more than just respiration; it’s a moment of inspiration, a chance to welcome spirit into our bodies. 🌬️

When we breathe, we’re not just taking in air—we’re connecting with the essence of life itself. Air is spirit, flowing through us, grounding us, and reminding us of the unseen energy that nourishes and connects us to everything around.

4 Lessons from Life on the Road 🚐

Over the past few years, living and working from a van has taught me some valuable lessons that have reshaped both my personal and professional life. Here are four key takeaways that I believe apply to everyone, no matter where (or how) you live:

1. Time Is More Valuable Than Money ⏳💰

In a world that often prioritises hustle and financial gain, I’ve learned that true wealth comes from freedom—having the time and health to do what you love. By simplifying my lifestyle, I’ve found more space to focus on what really matters: my passion/curiosity, meaningful experiences and relationships.

2. Struggle Builds Strength 💪🌱

Life on the road isn’t without its challenges, but each obstacle has helped me grow stronger and more resilient. From mechanical breakdowns to unpredictable weather, every setback has been an opportunity to adapt and learn. Just like in business, overcoming adversity is where the real growth happens. The more you persevere, the easier it becomes.

3. Rethinking Space: How Much Do I Really Need? 🏠🌍

Living in a van has made me reconsider what I truly need to feel fulfilled. I’ve learned that it’s not the size of the space, but the richness of the experiences that matter. This minimalistic mindset has helped me focus more on what brings value, both personally and professionally.

4. Nature’s Healing Power 🌿🧘
