EXHIBITION INVITE AND PREVIEW!

So excited and exhausted! Just one week to go and then the exhibition will be up for one month.

These processes take a long time, and I have my arms full of integrity, so it takes even longer 🤪

This work has come about from collaborating with staff and students at the Penryn campus (University of Exeter and Falmouth) over the last 4 weeks...

I'm exploring themes of diversity and community, based at the ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY INSTITUTE (ESI).

Exhibition details are now on my website

Opening Thurs 30th April 4-5pm

Exhibition runs 30th April - 29th May 9-5pm
WEEKDAYS ONLY (not including bank holidays)

In my world it's normal to enjoy w**ds everyday! I'm picking these for cordage and creative projects.

A lovely selection of dates on the website if you'd like to learn the; what, how, when and why of transforming 'w**ds' aka abundant, flourishing plants into beautiful and functional projects.

Let's normalise enjoying plants in this way!

Especially in the light of Cornwall Council's latest decisuon to bring back using glyphpsate (a toxic w**d killer) on our roadsides.

Very disappointing. However... Lots of creative ways to respond to this coming soon!

Making string from plants is so satisfying!

Did you spot my earring (made from plant string) in the video too?!

Love the 'kitten string' interpretation by the captions generator 🤣. That was meant to be 'make into string'.

If you'd like to learn with me, the next cordage making session is the 27th March here in Penzance.

Only 5 places left...

Fantastic foraging group today! Hands on learning is the best! 💚🌿

What do you want out of today?

🌿 Confidence to pick the right thing ✅️
🌿 Learn what's around us ✅️
🌿 Recipe ideas ✅️
🌿 Enjoy time in nature with others ✅️

We covered 11 wild edible plants, including look-a-like plants and one poisonous (non-edible obvs) plant.

And... ate pre- made wild tasters on the beach 😊

Walking, uses our senses, taking time and sharing all create a great learning environment and this group were awesome!

So great to be heading into spring this way.

Thank you Noélia Santos and it was a team effort!

I was lucky enough to have 1-1 tuition in weaving with palm leaves in the south of Portugal last month.

Learning two techniques that are common in southern Spain and Portugal and northern Africa

Loule Criativo were wonderful hosts and even doubled as a translator to help me get the most out of the experience.

It's so wonderful to learn from someone who learnt these skills as a child. And Noélia was such a patient teacher with me!

Over the day we created our own language too, a mix of Portuguese, English and French - it worked!

Now all I need to do is practice and hone these skills so I can make and share further.
