Ruth Weaver is a Medical Herbalist living and practicing in the beautiful county of Cornwall, her place of birth and upbringing. Ruth studied at the Scottish School of Herbal Medicine, Glasgow and The University of Lincoln where she completed her Herbal Medicine BSc. The roots of Ruth's practice are in traditional Western Herbalism, she has sought diversity in her inspirations having worked with a

nd learnt from herbalists from all around the UK. She also works with a collective of Herbalist first aiders at festivals around the UK providing orthodox and herbal first aid. Sharing the herbal wisdom is where Ruth's passion lies, she believes everyone should be empowered with the knowledge and skills to treat simple conditions at home with the powerful medicines growing so abundantly around us. Come in guys, for a sneak peak of what's happening behind the scenes, what to expect from us at the Apothecary and why we need your support!

The Crowdfunder is at 90% (link in bio)! It is absolutely phenomenal and I am completely blown away by the support for this project so far.

Taking on this space is dream material, I am so excited to share it all with you. Admittedly, it's also quite scary. I had to move quickly to find a team after being let down, a set back which has cost me a week of Christmas retail opportunity. I am blessed to now have an amazing team for the core work.

I honestly cannot thank you all enough for getting behind me, the more I raise, the more sustainable this project can be for me to create the work and support my community in this optimally awesome space.

UPDATE: This week, I will sign the lease on the new space in Central Penzance - home to the apothecary, a place to gather, share knowledge, to be empowered, to connect, learn and heal. My vision is for this space to become a high vibe hub for all, somewhere that is about connection and medicine. The Crowdfunder is now HALF WAY! We have 16 days to reach our target. No matter how small, each donation helps to actualise this vision and hit the ground running! For those who can donate ÂŁ20 or less will receive a mini tincture, donations of ÂŁ25 will have 1x free space on a herb study workshop in 2026! I am so grateful for all your support.

The Apothecary CROWDFUNDER is at 33%! If you can support, through a donation, now matter how big or small - you will be helping to bring a community herbal health resource, available to all, in the heart of Penzance!
This will be a vibrant space where people can drop in for herbal support, consultations, and professional natural healthcare - as well as a welcoming sober, inclusive space to connect, drink chai learn, and share. Alongside the herbal dispensary and shop, there will be practice room for wellness practitioners, an amazing central location for workshops, and educational events to support and empower our community.
It’s been over 85 years since Penzance last had a herbalist shop - and this project aims to bring that tradition back to life, grounded in modern herbal medicine, sustainability, and community spirit.

ANNOUNCEMENT! Coming to the high-street.....
Penzance Apothecary & Community Clinic.

I am delighted to share with you that I will be opening a space in the heart of Penzance, a space for community herbalism, drop in herbal support, workshops, cacao and a practice room for holistic practitioners. We need your help to get us started. This is a long held vision and a massive evolution for my work as a herbalist. I will also hope to be able to offer a student clinic for herbalist students undertaking professional training (which will enable a monthly low cost consultation service). PLEASE DONATE AND SHARE.
