Just a few things to know about me...

20 years as a midwfe in homes, birth centres and hospital.

Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Midwifery Practice specialising in Normal Childbirth.

Trained with Michel Odent, Conscious Birthing Doulas, Birthing Within (Pam England), Biomechanics for Birth, Spinning Babies, Iolanthe Award winner.

Published articles in Practising Midwife, Royal College of Midwives and the Association of Radical Midwives

I now work as a doula locally and teach an online doula course.

This work is my absolute passion and calling and I seriously am excited to bring it home to Penzance, working with local families once again.

Is physiological birth your passion?
Do you want to feel more confident at homes or in the birth centre?
Do you want to work in community one day, or even be independent?
Or do you want to suppot physiology even when there's a 'high risk' label?
If you want learn more about supporting physiological birth, this will be a morning of learning, discussion and exploring how you can support it as a midwife/student midwife. It will be a safe space to share fears around this, and a way to hopefully inspire you with confidence, especially when births plans are 'outside of guidance'.
I worked within the NHS for 20 years, in the home, birth centres and delivery suites. And yes it IS possible - even though it feels so hard sometimes.
It's £12.50 for the morning and I can forward a certificate of attendance for those interested. Plus a recording will be sent to participants if you can't make it.
