Thank you to all the services and emergency services working to make us safe and who are now working to help our communities rebuild and restore after Storm Goretti went through last night - causing significant damage and disruption to our communications, electricity supplies and essential services. Especially West Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly which once again bore the brunt of the storm.
More than 40,000 homes still without power. Schools still closed. Transport severely disrupted.
Thanks to the hundreds of community spirited people who have been helping those who have suffered the worst of it. And to our farmers and those with powerful lifting and shifting equipment who've clearly done a great job too. Thank you.
We've been given the following contacts to use if in need. Please stay safe. Much overhead will have been dislodged and may still be in a dangerous or unstable state, so please proceed with care.
Police, fire service or medical emergencies, call 999.
Non-emergencies, call the police on 101.
