There are lots of different ‘types’ of counselling. Person-centred - CBT - Psychodynamic - Integrative, are just a few…. Sometimes clients try a ‘type’ that doesn’t suit them, and can put them off future support.
If this has happened to you, don’t give up ….. but when all is said and done …. The power of therapy working, is in the room, the unique relationship and trust between client and therapist. 2 humans in the room. One of which is trained to hold your pain and distress and help to navigate a future way forward. Trust your instincts, and choose the other human you feel comfortable with. Jo
