Perth and Kinross Mental Health and Wellbeing Festival

Perth and Kinross Mental Health and Wellbeing Festival Our festival provides free support to improve your mental health and wellbeing.

We want to focus on breaking the stigma of mental health and normalise it as something that all people experience. This year, the festival will be held at The Horsecross in Perth on the 6th and 7th of August. Working alongside our partners, the weekend will be jam packed with workshops, talks, live music and various interactive activities. We hope that the festival will increase awareness of the support that is out there and make it more accessible to all. We are Hiring!
Trauma Healing together requires an organised, innovative, and creative individual to work with us to support and grow our Perth and Kinross Mental Health and Wellbeing Festival. The Perth and Kinross Mental Health Festival was established in 2021, and its main aim was to bring the local community together to highlight the importance of mental health and showcase the different type of support available.

We are looking for someone who is experienced in organising and promoting large scale community events and is skilled in developing key strategic partnerships especially within the third sector.

For Mental Health Awareness Day, we asked our volunteers Rachel and Lewis, students from Perth Acadmy, what mental health means to them......

"Mental Health can be different for everyone and shouldnt be defined by one thing. It is unique to every individual and its difficult to really tell what is going on for someone. Sometimes people may look ok on the outside but are really struggling on the inside. We shouldnt judge someone based on just what we see as there can be so much more going on underneath the surface. We would like to see more access to support in schools and for support to be more pro-active. Its important for people and their experiences not to be dismissed. Everyone deserves to be heard"

We had a great afternoon at the Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival yesterday which generated lots of exciting ideas for our next Festival. We were particularly inspired by the workshops that discussed using the power of film to revolutionise how we see mental health and we are looking forward to working with Kelly McIntyre to put something together around this.

And that’s it for another year!

For us, the most enjoyable part of the festival was the conversations we had. We spoke to people struggling with their mental health and looking for support to help them through. We spoke to people who had found ways to manage their mental health and had come so far in their journey but just needed that extra little bit of support. We often spoke to people about nothing in particular and just enjoyed the casual chit chat. It’s not always about what you say but simply the act of sharing and connecting that’s important which in a way is what the festival is all about.

Thank you to everyone who came along, and we hope that you gained at least one thing from this year’s Mental Health and Wellbeing festival.

We would also like to thank all of our wonderful partners involved in this year’s festival and our lovely volunteers who helped out across the weekend.

If you would like to support us and help us grow next years festival, please invite your Facebook family and friends to our page so that we can spread awareness of the event.
