GP practices will be closed for four days at Christmas (25-28 December) and four days at New Year (1-4 January).

Make sure you have common medicines such as paracetamol (including liquid paracetamol for children), ibuprofen, cold and flu remedies, antihistamines and medicine for stomach bugs, as well as first aid kit supplies like plasters, bandages and antiseptic wipes/creams.

Your pharmacist can advise on the best medications to have in your medicine cabinet.

⚠️ Important Notice – Ongoing IT Issues Across Practices

We’re currently experiencing significant IT problems affecting a number of practices across Perthshire. This is impacting our ability to access both Clinical and Telephone systems, which may slow down how quickly we can respond to you.

Our teams are working incredibly hard to manage the situation and continue providing care despite the challenges. We kindly ask for your patience, understanding, and support while these issues are resolved.

GP Practices throughout Tayside are committed to providing patients with the highest quality care. They participate in a number of Protected Learning Time (PLT) sessions throughout the year which allows them to provide access to training for the whole practice team.

Most GP Practices throughout Tayside will be closed for routine appointments between 1-6pm today (Wednesday 26 November) to take part in PLT sessions.
Please be assured, access to urgent care for patients will continue throughout this time.

During those hours on Wednesday 26 November, GP practices will continue to be contactable by phone to access urgent care which cannot wait until the practice reopens the following morning or to make any future appointments or medication requests.

GP surgeries will resume their usual working hours again on Thursday 27 November.

We’re running to raise funds for the Cornhill Macmillan Centre at Perth Royal Infirmary — a place that is local, close to our patients, and close to our hearts. Many of us have personal experience of knowing someone who has been cared for there, and we want to give back to the amazing team who make such a difference. ❤️

📢 Important Update to Our Appointment System starting from Monday August 11th.

We’re making changes to how you book appointments at Victoria Practice.

From now on, all appointment requests will be reviewed on the same day by a clinician — meaning no more waiting weeks for routine appointments. Our goal is to help more patients, more quickly, and make sure everyone gets the right care at the right time. Please note: Once the practice has reached safe capacity for the day, we will not be able to offer further appointments. In this case, you will be asked to call back the following morning from 8:00 AM.

To request an appointment, just call us between 8:00 AM and 10:30 AM. You’ll be contacted the same day and offered the most appropriate care.

We know change can be challenging, but we’re confident this will improve access and safety for everyone.
