MacKenzie's Opticians is a long-standing establishment that has seen many Optometrists care for their patient's over the years. After Thomas MacGregor's retirement in January 2013, the practice has recently been taken over by Eleanor Baxter, a successful Optician who has been practising for 23 years and has always valued her patients highly and made the effort to go the extra mile. Mackenzie's is Eleanor's second practice to take on after running the Opticians clinic in Bonnybridge Health Centre for the past 20 years. Eleanor has also had experience working in Stirling Royal Infirmary, the Prison service and as a locum optician in many other practices across the central belt. When she heard about Mr MacGregor looking to pass on the practice to someone else who shared his work ethics, spending extra time with patients to provide a personal service and to do everything possible to make patient's feel comfortable, Eleanor jumped at the opportunity. The practice has been modernised and updated with all the latest optical equipment but is still very much patient-based. Eleanor's right hand man is her husband, Gordon Baxter, who manages the practice, repairs glasses and makes the cups of tea!! He can always be found in the waiting room keeping patient's company while they wait. On the desk are two familiar faces, Margaret and Linda, who have stayed on after Mr MacGregor's retirement. The practice is ideally located on South Methven Street just off the high street. Eye examinations are free on the NHS and there is a wide range of men, women's and children's glasses ranging from free to designer to choose from so we would love you to pop in!
