We are kicking off with a focus on partnership from factory to farm! ⬇️

At ABN, safety doesn’t stop at the mill gate. Our fleet drivers are out on the road every day, delivering more than just feed. They play an important partnership role and link to ensure health and safety targets are met from point of despatch and all the way to farm.

ABN’s Director of Health, Safety, Quality and Environment, Dave Roberts, explains why it has been important for him to spend time both on-site with ABN factory colleagues, as well as joining some of the fleet delivery drivers on their rounds.

𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐬...

It is the ambition of ABN to support the changing needs of our customers and to ensure the security of the broader pig and poultry supply chain. In 2023, ABN obtained planning permission to build a new compound feed manufacturing facility in the East of the UK. The project is now reaching an exciting stage.

“Our journey is just beginning”, says Dino Kiriakopoulos, Managing Director of AB Agri Mono UK & IE. “The intricate process of building a pioneering new animal nutrition complex is a long-term project. I am delighted to announce that stage 1; access is now in progress. At every stage of the process, we will be mindful of minimising the impact on the local community and working with our partners to ensure that we have an estate capable of meeting the future requirements of our industry.”

🇧🇪 A fantastic couple of days in Brussels with the NFU PIP group!

Day 2 kicked off with a visit to Yellow Bird Group. A brilliant, family owned business giving us an insight into the Belgian poultry market.

We then headed to a two story broiler farm, the only one of its kind in Belgium, where we saw chicks hatched using the NestBorn method and raised under the Better Chicken Commitment (EU equivalent).

We then headed to KU Leuven University TRANSfarm research site for fascinating presentations on in-ovo sexing, vaccinations, and gut health.

It was a packed and rewarding trip and the PIP are taking home plenty of ideas and inspiration!

Our aim is to be the preferred supply chain partner to the pig and poultry industry in Great Britain. We realise the importance of services supplementary to the supply of feed and hence have developed a sophisticated but simple information service to support customers in these times of volatile commodity markets. In addition, ABN is working in partnership with pig and poultry producers to meet supply chain objectives with respect to innovation, for example, carbon footprinting.
