Victoria Hill Funeral Celebrant I can bridge the gap between a religious and non-religious funeral with bespoke ceremonies. It confirms memories and feelings.

The aim of a civil funeral is to capture the 'essence' of the person and paint a picture with words that reflect who they were. The ceremony establishes that they live on in the memory and lives of those who survive them. As a professional Celebrant, families can have full confidence that their carefully planned ceremony will be conducted with warmth and feeling, and will celebrate the life of a loved one in a unique and special way.

I would like to wish all of my families a healing and reflective new year; where our memories of our loved ones we have lost this year can remain safely within our hearts; where we can allow ourselves to smile without guilt and take one step closer to mending broken hearts; where the pain of loss is not so raw when we look back on good times.
And for families who will experience a loss this year … I have got you; I am with you and we will get through this ❤️

I have just received a lovely email from my family from yesterday . It makes my job a lot easier knowing they are comforted .

‘Hi Victoria. I just want to say a huge and heartfelt THANK YOU for yesterday. You read the tribute with such grace and love and I can’t tell you enough how much it helped me and the family. You read with a light tone and smiled and celebrated ….every time you said his name. Thank you so so much. You’re SO good at what you do and we are blessed to have had you with us. Thank you. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ###xx

Today we say goodbye to a professional gardener and broadcaster who left far too soon .
As the Christmas week draws upon us we remember that this time of year is not always a season of happiness for a lot of families , our thought and prayers are with them xx

To say I receive ‘reviews’ is not the right word, but it’s always heart lifting to get a lovely email from a family . I received this today:

‘’Thanks so much for checking in and for everything yesterday.. you have made the whole process so much easier for us than it would have been without your help and support throughout.

The service was even more beautiful than we had dared to dream and we know that ——- would certainly have approved and that we honoured him so well.
The whole day truly felt like a celebration of his life.

Thanks again so very very much for everything.’’

Have you ever thought about this?

In 100 years like in 2123 we will all be buried with our relatives and friends.

Strangers will live in our homes we fought so hard to build, and they will own everything we have today. All our possessions will be unknown and unborn, including the car we spent a fortune on, and will probably be scrap, preferably in the hands of an unknown collector.

Our descendants will hardly or hardly know who we were, nor will they remember us. How many of us know our grandfather's father?

After we die, we will be remembered for a few more years, then we are just a portrait on someone's bookshelf, and a few years later our history, photos and deeds disappear in history's oblivion. We won't even be memories.

If we paused one day to analyse these questions, perhaps we would understand how ignorant and weak the dream to achieve it all was.

If we could only think about this, surely our approaches, our thoughts would change, we would be different people.

Always having more, no time for what's really valuable in this life. I'd change all this to live and enjoy the walks I've never taken, these hugs I didn't give, these kisses for our children and our loved ones, these jokes we didn't have time for. Those would certainly be the most beautiful moments to remember, after all they would fill our lives with joy.

And some of us waste it day after day with greed, selfishness and intolerance.

Every minute of life is priceless and will never be repeated, so take time to enjoy, be grateful for, and celebrate your existence.

Many thanks to the family who sent me this gorgeous email today 🥰🥰🥰….

‘Victoria,

Just wanted to send a heart felt thank you for my father's service delivered by your calming personality. You have an amazing skill in controlling the room at such a very sensitive time for so many.
For the record everyone commented on how nice you were... your fan club is growing.

Thank you again ‘

When you are going about your day today , take a breath before you complain; take a moment to stop and listen to silence. Pause and send out a loving thought.
Because whatever you are doing, the reality is that there is someone out there having a far worse time of it.

Received this lovely email from a family today:

‘Morning Victoria, I cannot thank you enough for the way you conducted Dad’s ceremony yesterday. You were a reassuring and trusted presence for us when we needed it most.
Professional, composed, compassionate, kind warm and genuine.
Your advise and guidance was invaluable in our meeting and it was comforting to know you were always at the end of a message or call.
The family has had many lovely comments about the ceremony including the part you played and it was everything we hoped it would be, something dad would have loved.
Love ***** and all the family
Xx
