We’ve made the most of the sunshine this week☀️with beautiful walks around the lake and capturing nature through our cameras📸🌳🦢

From lively chair exercises💪to the wonderful Amazing Retired Bugsy & Sucessor Hank assistance dog therapy visit 🐶a fun language lesson with Pavol 🌍 and choosing fantastic books from the library bus to enjoy in our lounges 📚🛋️

Progression Post🌟👏

A huge congratulations to Lisa, who has progressed from Care Assistant to Senior Care Assistant!✨

Lisa consistently shows true passion and demonstrates outstanding communication and person-centred care to all of our residents. She approaches every day with compassion and patience, when also supporting those living with dementia. Lisa always promotes dignity, respect and kindness in everything she does.

Alongside her new role, Lisa is also completing her NVQ Level 3 to further build her knowledge and skillsets📚

We had a fantastic afternoon at Peterborough and District Bowls Centre for our Waterhouse Manor Challenge! 🎳

Our residents thoroughly enjoyed watching the games played by the wonderful members before coming together to socialise over tea, cake and a raffle, all in aid of Alzheimer's Society💙🎗️

It was a brilliant community afternoon, filled with friendly competition and smiles as we proudly awarded our very own Waterhouse Manor Challenge Trophy to the winners, with the runners-up receiving unique Avery hampers!🏆

A lovely week in Waterhouse Manor🌤️

We brightened our days making paper tulips🌷 and enjoyed with tipples of red and white thy brought smiles🍷 We were treated to the beautiful sound of piano and singing from Gabriella Pineda-Rodrigues 🎹🎶 and even had a surprise visit from our alpaca friends for a resident’s birthday🦙💛

We’ve also started preparing for our Waterhouse Manor Bowls Challenge on 21st February, and finished the week with a fun game of bingo! 🎳✨

Tasty Tuesday! 😋

We started the morning feeling energised with brilliant chair-based exercises alongside our friends from the Extra Time Hub at Peterborough United Foundation 💙

In the afternoon, it was all about Pancake Day! 🥞🥞Our wonderful Kitchen Assistant, Max, whipped up delicious homemade pancakes with plenty of tasty toppings to choose from 🍓🍫🍋 Even one of our lovely district nurses enjoyed a little sweet treat!🩺

To top off a fun-filled day, we celebrated Chinese New Year🇨🇳🏮 with a themed dinner, music and some finest Chinese dishes!🐉🥢

🚌Our residents were invited to Wittering Primary School for a reading afternoon with the wondeful year 1 children
🕺🏻Enjoyed an exercise session
🎨Painted our homemade clay models
☕️A visit to the Salvation Army for a cuppa and see familar faces
💇Weekly visit from our hairdresser, making the residents feel great
🗣️We had a second language lesson with Carer, Pavol

What a fire-tastic morning we had with the amazing Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service 🚒🔥

Our wonderful local firefighters joined us for a grand tour of Waterhouse Manor before sitting down with residents for drinks, cake and plenty of great chats and questions. Then the real excitement began…we headed outside to explore their phenomenal truck & kit! Our residents got fully involved with trying on the jackets and equipment used when they’re out responding and saving lives!👩‍🚒👨‍🚒

A huge thank you to the team for the visit - you truly made our day with lots of smiles & laughs! ❤️

🚒 Community Fire Safety Information Drop-In at Waterhouse Manor ☕🍰

Join us on 10th February at 11am - 12pm as our fantastic Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service visit for an informal fire safety information session. The community are warmly welcome to pop in for friendly advice, a chat with the team, plus coffee and cake on offer too. We look forward to seeing you!😊
