The labrum is a crucial structure that provides stability, cushioning and support to the hip joint. A labral tear is an injury to the cartilage (labrum) that surrounds and supports the hip joint.

Signs & Symptoms include:• Deep joint pain and groin pain• Clicking, locking, or catching sensation• Reduced range of motion• Feeling of instability or weakness• Pain that worsens with activity or certain movements

How Physiotherapy Can Help:• Targeted exercises to strengthen surrounding muscles• Improving joint stability and control• Restoring range of motion• Manual therapy techniques to reduce pain and stiffness• Education on movement patterns to prevent further injury

The goal is to reduce pain, improve function, and help you get back to doing what you love ✅

If you believe you may have symptoms of a labral tear or are experiencing hip pain that is not going away, the best thing to do is start treatment as soon as possible for improved recovery!

Thank you Mia for a great in service training session yesterday on hip injuries and pathologies 😀

The training session included both intra and extra articular conditions to be able to differentiate the hip joint and bones from muscle, tendon and ligament injuries.

We are looking forward to applying these principles with our patient assessments 🙌

PHYSIO MYTH ❌

“You should rest completely if you have pain.”

In many cases, complete rest can actually slow recovery.

THE TRUTH✅

Research shows the right type of movement and rehabilitation exercises often help tissues heal, restore strength, and prevent long-term problems.

Every injury is different, which is why a proper assessment is important.

If you’ve been resting an injury for weeks and it’s not improving, it may be time to get it checked.

The VCF team are always happy to help. 💪

Half term always shows up quickly, doesn’t it?

More walking.
More time on your feet.
More trying to keep up with everyone else.

If you’ve been putting up with back pain, knee aches, or something that just “hasn’t felt right” for a while, this is usually the week it makes itself known.

We see it all the time- people are busy, so they manage it and carry on. But when activity increases, the discomfort does too.

You don’t have to just push through it.

If something’s been bothering you, come and get it checked properly. We will diagnose your injury/condition and put a clear plan in place so you’re not stuck guessing or googling.

As a small clinic, we genuinely care about helping people feel better in their everyday lives, whether that’s long walks, gym sessions, or just moving without stiffness, aches and pains.

If you’ve been thinking about booking in, this week is a good time to do it!

Just send a message, call or email us 🤍

Femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) is a condition in which one or both bones of the hip joint are irregularly shaped, causing them to rub against one another.

Symptoms of FAI include deep hip or groin pain that worsens with activities such as squatting, sitting long periods, lying on the hip and physical activity. Patients may also experience stiffness and a limited range of motion of the hip joint.

Physiotherapy is a highly recommended non-surgical treatment for FAI, helping to reduce pain, improve joint mobility and to strengthen the muscles around the hips, pelvis and gluteals.

New Year’s resolutions only work if your body can keep up with them.

If you’ve joined a gym, restarted training, or committed to looking after yourself better this year, make sure you’re not relying on “push through it and hope it settles.”

Physiotherapy and sports massage can help you:
• reduce muscle tension and soreness
• improve mobility and recovery
• manage ni**les before they become injuries
• support your strength, fitness, and performance goals

If tightness, aches, or old injuries are already getting in the way, get them sorted now rather than waiting until they stop you completely. Staying consistent is easier when your body is able to tolerate the load you’re putting through it.

Appointments are available. Contact us to book and start the year moving better, not just training harder.
