Throughout his time as a PCSO, Ronnie has spent time building relationships within the community through regular visits to various community groups and care homes across the sector.

He recently called in to Werrington Lodge care home to catch up with the residents and staff over some breakfast. 👮☕

It is always good to spend some time talking to them about their concerns and provide any advice when necessary.

To make the visit even better, Ronnie got to see all of the lovely creations they had made during a recent Easter bonnet crafting session.

Thanks for the great morning, and we hope to see you all again soon! 💙

At about 7.15am on Thursday, we received numerous calls reporting concerns for the safety of a horse that was running on the Cardea Bypass. 🐴

Officers attended and the road was temporarily closed while they tried to get the horse to safety.

However, it was having too much fun on this early morning adventure and refused to move from the side of the road!

Eventually, the owner was able to assist, with the horse finally returning safely to where it belongs.

The family of a “deeply loved” motorcyclist who died after a collision in Peterborough have paid tribute to him.

Robin Cooper, 50, of Earl Mews, Market Deeping, died after his motorcycle struck a lamp post on the A605 in Flaxley Road at about 2.40pm on Friday (3 April).

His son said in a family tribute: “Robin was a deeply loved father, son, brother, uncle and friend. To those he left behind, he was a great man and will be remembered for his charismatic nature and humour always making us smile.

“Dad's unwavering strength, support and love meant the world to myself and my brother, and he encapsulated every element of a man we could ever wish to be. He is forever in the hearts of those he meant the most to, and we are proud to carry his memory and soul with us for the rest of our days.

“We will treasure the memories of a good man gone far, far too soon. Our family, beloved dog Dove, and every life touched beyond will sorely miss you, Dad, and we look forward to seeing you again and will live our lives to the fullest in your memory.”

Officers are appealing for information from anyone who may have witnessed the collision.

Anyone with information should contact police online at https://orlo.uk/iZU41, quoting Operation Poplar or incident 280 of 3 April. Those without internet access should call 101.

Earlier this week, our neighbourhood officers joined Peterborough City Council parking enforcement officers and the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency on a joint operation in Woodston and Fletton in response to concerns about inconsiderate parking and untaxed vehicles.

During the operation, several cars were clamped and we issued parking tickets to vehicles that were blocking the pavements. 🚗

This is part of their work towards one of the priorities they will be focusing on over the next few months: Anti-social parking issues in Fletton and Woodston

Last Sunday, our neighbourhood officers were back at Wellington Street car boot sale as part of their ongoing work to tackle retail crime, including the sale of stolen goods. 👮🛍️

During these patrols, a few stall holders received words of advice about the items they were selling, but on this occasion no arrests or seizures were made.

However, later that day, officers visited a car park in Dickens Street, Eastfield, following information that it was being used to sell suspected stolen goods.

As officers arrived, a group of people made off with bags of items and didn’t fancy stopping for a chat.

One man was detained and found to be carrying about 20 bottles of olive oil, numerous boxes of chocolates and kitchen items.

That wasn’t all, as even more goods were found stored in his car and house!

⚖️The man in his 30s, as well as a woman in her 30s and a teenage boy were arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods.

In addition to this, traffic officers stopped a car nearby in Crawthorne Road due to information about it being used for thefts in other counties.

⚖️A 33-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman were arrested after suspected stolen goods were found in the vehicle.

Our patrols of these areas and taking action through arrests and seizing goods will continue when we can.

One Monday morning call, one more loved one kept safe 🏠 💜

It’s just after 8am on a Monday morning when you walk back into your living room after 10 minutes and realise your husband is missing.

He didn't just walk out via the front door - a neighbour saw him leaving by using a ladder to climb over the garage in the back garden. Because he has dementia, this makes you even more concerned 😞

This was the reality for one worried woman in her 80s earlier this month in Stanground, Peterborough, who called us immediately. Luckily, the vulnerable elderly man returned just minutes later while she was still on the phone to us.

We visited the couple’s home to talk them through the Herbert Protocol with them. Have you heard of it? 💡 👀 It’s a scheme we support that can help find people with dementia if they go missing.

It encourages family and friends to fill out an online form that will help officers in the event a loved one goes missing by collating key pieces of information, such as a physical description, familiar places, health details and an up-to-date photo.

In just three months, 110 people have signed up to the scheme and filled out the useful form online 🙌 🚔

You can also register your interest for one of our smart yellow wristbands, which store the name and contact details of a wearer’s next of kin so that if someone gets lost, members of the public can quickly access contact details and reunite them - often taking away the need to call us.

To fill out your own Herbert Protocol form for a loved one living in Cambridgeshire, visit our dedicated web page: https://orlo.uk/Herbert-Protocol_lkwsF

We’re renewing our appeal to find missing Alfie Caney who was last seen two weeks ago.
These two CCTV images are of the 15-year-old at B&M at the Orton Centre, in Peterborough, just before he was last seen on the afternoon of 28 March.
Officers are continuing searches and inquiries this weekend at the Orton Centre and in the areas of Pennington, Orton Mere and Ferry Meadows.
We’re urging anyone who has CCTV on their property and lives in these areas, as well as Medworth and Marsham, to review their footage from 6pm on the day Alfie went missing.
Officers are also making inquiries in areas where he has links, including Chatham, Kent, London and Northamptonshire.
Anyone who has seen Alfie or has information about his whereabouts should use reference incident 338 of 28 March and report it through the force website: https://orlo.uk/DBY41
Anyone without internet access should call 101.

One of the priorities for our southern neighbourhood team is tackling anti-social behaviour (ASB) in Hampton.

👮As part of this, we have been out on patrol in the Albert Crescent and Serpentine Lake area, taking the time to talk to those we saw out and about and listening to their concerns.

If you were unable to talk to us on this occasion and have an ASB concern, you can report it to us online👉 https://orlo.uk/V9fpq

It was a landmark day for 18 student police officers as they passed out this afternoon in front of family and friends at force HQ.

They were welcomed by Chief Constable Simon Megicks and will now be posted to police stations across the county.

If you want to follow in their footsteps, or know someone who might, we’re open for recruitment to our Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA).

Successful applicants will study for a degree, earning while they learn, with no tuition fees or debt.
