🌈Today is World Autism Awareness Day and it kicks off World Acceptence Month.
Autism Acceptance is More Than Just Awareness
We’re all pretty aware that autism exists. It’s the ACCEPTANCE part people are still struggling with.
We need a world where autistic people are truly seen, valued, and included.
They do not need to be “fixed” or “changed”
They need understanding, patience, and respect.
They need friends who won’t leave them out.
They need people to see their full potential.
They need a society that embraces differences instead of just tolerating them.
They need a world that loves them for exactly who they are
Parents, let’s teach our kids that kindness is free, and differences make the world more beautiful. Let’s raise them to stand up for the child who plays alone, to listen when words are hard to find, and to embrace those who see the world in a unique and incredible way!
In a 🌎 where you can be anything…..
BE KIND
This subject is very close to many of our hearts! 💙
Accepting autism isn’t something that’s new to us all, it’s not something we do or celebrate for a day or a month each year, it’s our reality every single day…
Let’s raise awareness of Autism throughout the course of the month. ❤️🧡💛💚💜💙
What is Autism?
💙Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurological and developmental diagnosis that affects how people interact with others, communicate, learn, and behave.
💙Autism is known as a “spectrum” disorder because there is wide variation in the type and severity of symptoms that people experience.
💙People of all genders, races, ethnicities, and economic backgrounds can be diagnosed with ASD.
💙One in 100 people are on the autism spectrum and there are around 700,000 autistic adults and children in the UK.
Together, let's break the stigma and stereotypes and advocate for real change!
