Our Story
I provide infant feeding clinic services for mothers who are able to travel to the Peak District, Solihull and Nottingham who need support with their babies, both breast feeding and artificial feeding. I am regulated by the Care Quality Commission, insured with Aviva, member of the Royal College of Midwives, the Lactation Consultants of Great Britain and the Association of Tongue-Tie Practitioners.
My Peak District Clinic availability can be flexible. Please call for my availability.
I worked in the NHS until 2015 , since qualifying as a nurse in 1989 and then as a midwife in 1992. I have specialised in infant feeding due to my passion for supporting mothers who wish to breast feed. Like most people who have a keen interest I had feeding problems which subsequently led me on a pathway to where I am today, supporting mothers . I have been in private practice since 2010.
In 1993 I began my family and I have two lovely daughters. I was able to breast feed the first daughter without any concerns until she self weaned.
Sadly, my second daughter was unable to breast feed and, reluctantly, I moved on to artificial milk for her. Without in depth knowledge and experience, I was unable to identify why she struggled, and blamed myself for not being able to feed her.
When I discovered information about Tongue Ties in 2007 it was my 'light bulb' moment and the path was set for me to acquire training, as an IBCLC, and experience and competency in frenulotomies (division of the Tongue tie) 2010.
You may verify my professional qualification and fitness to practice on the NMC register by entering my full name, Suzanne Liza Barber.
