Peacefully, at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary on Thursday 24th July 2025, John (Ian) Henderson aged 81 years. Dearly loved husband of Helen, a much loved and loving dad of Brenda and Paul, a dear father-in-law to Alex and Morag, a proud and devoted granda of Scott, Megan and the late Heather and Jamie, a loving great granda of Ayda and Thea and a beloved brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. Very sadly missed. Service of Thanksgiving for Ian’s life to be held in The Almanythie Hall, Grange Road, Peterhead on Monday 11th August at 10.30 a.m. to which all friends are respectfully invited and thereafter to Grange Cemetery. Family flowers only, but if so desired, donations in lieu of flowers at the hall door for Scottish Cot Death Trust.

Dearly loved and cherished husband of Georgette Cairns (nee Henderson), a much loved and loving dad to Lesley and Stephanie, a dear father-in-law of Stephen and Craig, and a devoted granda to Ava, Cian, Cameron and Isla. Frances and family wish to express their sincere thanks to relatives and friends for the many thoughtful expressions of sympathy and kindness shown to them following the recent “Home Call” of David. The number of cards, letters, phone calls, flowers, personal visitors to the home and the overwhelming acts of practical kindness received will always be remembered and greatly appreciated by the family. Heartfelt thanks to Mr Milburn and all staff on wards 206/207 ARI, for the exceptional tender loving care given to David during his last 3 weeks. Sincere thanks also, to local GPs, Dr Reid and Dr Morton for the prompt and caring attention given. With grateful thanks to Mr David Stephen, a personal friend and shipmate for his words of comfort, conducting such an uplifting family service, fulfilling David’s last wishes. Finally, to Robert Mackie, a lifelong friend, and his staff for such loving care and professionalism.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all our family and friends for the love, support, and kindness shown to us following the sad loss of our beloved mum.

Special thanks to Craig Mackie for making all the arrangements with such professionalism, care and compassion, and to Ronnie Kain for helping to share such wonderful, uplifting memories during the celebration of our mums life.

Our sincere appreciation to all at Baldarroch Crematorium for the smooth running of the funeral and the warmth and compassion shown throughout, to Robert Grant for playing the bagpipes and giving our mum a traditional Scottish send off, The Flower Shop for the beautiful flowers and to Milton Brasserie for providing a lovely tea where we could gather to share memories together.

A heartfelt thank you to all the staff in wards 101 and 104 for the kindness and care given to our mum during her final days.

Finally, we are deeply grateful to everyone who travelled from near and far to be with us and who so generously donated in lieu of flowers to AMMF.

Grateful thanks to doctors and nurses at 105 ARI and also The Summers Ward for the care Charlie received. To the district nurses, Nicola the ANP on her home visits and while in hospital. Ian Proud and staff at Clerkhill pharmacy for their service over the years. To Mr Robert Mackie for his very comforting service, to Craig who was also very comforting and helpful, along with their staff. The Flower Shop for the beautiful floral tributes.
