Please note new patient podiatry appointments can only be booked by calling the reception team - as payment is required at the time of booking - why do we require up front payment? Over 21 years of business, new patient appointments have the highest non attendance rate.
What to expect during your appointment
Initial Consultation
Your initial consultation will begin with paperwork outlining your personal details and the reason for your visit. It is important that you include as much information as possible to enable us to formulate the most appropriate treatment plan that meets your needs. Please include as much information as possible including:
Reason for visit.
Expectations.
Onset of symptoms.
Duration of symptoms.
Previous treatments (both successful and unsuccessful).
Patterns of symptoms.
Any tests / investigations your GP may have carried out.
Medical history and medications.
We may ask about family history when appropriate.
Most of our assessments and treatments will require a hands-on approace . Please ensure you wear comfortable clothing that allows us to fully assess your condition. Let us know of any special considerations prior to your appointment.
During your assessment we will talk you through any findings and diagnosis. We welcome you to ask many questions and be a contributor to the conversation.
Any treatment carried out on the day will be discussed with you in detail prior to be carried out.
In some instances, we may be required to refer you on to another professional, or we may need to organise a prescription.
Informed Consent
During your assessment it is vital that you have a clear understanding of any suggested treatment plan and prognosis.
Often the amount of information that is discussed can be overwhelming. You are very welcome to take notes throughout the appointment or even bring someone with you. It can be handy to prepare questions prior to your appointment.
At your appointment you may be presented with multiple treatment plans. The pros and cons of each will be discussed with you, however you will be able to choose the treatment plan best suited your own preferences.
