Cataracts progressively worsen, impairing vision pretty dramatically if not dealt with.

Patients will also feel much more light sensitive, making headlights sometimes feel unbearable!

Following on from our previous post regarding eyesight and driving, we will be sharing some images of how a patient sees with various eye conditions... we won't need to give you the science behind it, as the images speak for themselves. And as you will see, this is highlighting why some people should not be driving, sight impairment is extremely dangerous to others on the road.

This is an incredibly hard watch, but one we think everyone needs to see... We cannot stress the importance of acceptable standards of vision in drivers enough!

You may remember us telling you about Peter Westwell, who sadly died after being involved in a collision as a pedestrian, where the 81-year-old driver was suffering poor eyesight, and was jailed in 2023.

Tonight, Peter's story, along with the stories of three others will be told in a Cause of Death special, which looks into the collisions, all involving drivers with impaired eyesight.

The special, featuring cases from both Lancashire and Merseyside, will air at 9pm on Channel 5.
