What a fantastic day we had, our lovely residents enjoyed an unforgettable day🧡 filled with lively entertainment💃 and joy during our fun cabaret event, Sadie a talented performer from strictly entertainment took us on a cruise around the world 🌍with music 🎵,dance 💃and dazzling costumes celebrating countries near and far.xx

What a fantastic time we've had celebrating 125 years of Horden mining ⛏️the past two weeks,we finished by visiting the miner which was lovely paint in memory of 125 years ,so much respect to all the miners, everyone has had so many stories to tell and brought back loads of memories of Horden. 🧡xx

What another fantastic day we had yesterday celebrating 125years of Horden mining ⛏️⛏️ with the thanks to Doug Langan who took the time to come and show us some mining slideshow photos from many years ago of Horden and tell us some very interesting stories and sing for us, memories and tears were filled. 🧡 and for some of our lovely community to come along and join us was lovely.xx Rodie and a massive thank you to Doug

To celebrate 125years of mining in Horden.
Jack Dormand Care Home is inviting people in our community to join in the fabulous afternoons of Mining Memborbial, Monday 25th August with Michael WIlson, also Wednesday 27th Horden through the decades with the fabulous Dougie Langan 2pm-3:45pm all welcome.
We are also showing copies of art work currently on exhibition at St Mary's church,By Artist Narbi Price and sounds captured by Mark Hudson these will be on display on theses afternoons.
In memory of Jack Dormand Mr Beadle was a well known member of Horden community and much loved resident of Jack Dormand care home. Mr Beadle "Ted" was a very talented bowls player and was a team member of Hordens team for many years. Sadly Ted is no longer with us. In celebration of his life and the 125th anniversary of the mining history in Horden a trophy has been donated to the bowls tournament that is running over the two weeks. The Ted Beadle trophy will be presented on August 30th to the winners of the tournament by his son Paul Beadle 🧡 xx

What a lovely little afternoon we had at Jack Dormand yesterday with the fantastic Fishburn Band! 📯🎷🎺

Everyone really enjoyed it! An afternoon full of smiles, singing and even a little dancing to celebrate the 125th year anniversary of the founding/start of coal mining in Horden... Thank you for a lovely afternoon, and we'll see you again very soon! 🧡

Midweek we enjoy Mr Motivator, getting fit with lots of laughs along the way, and bouncy music to get us all going 💪🤸‍♂️fantastic day 🧡 we cant wait for next week.

Well what a lovely week its been so far, 🧡from games,residents meeting, to bus trips 🚍 to garden centres which one of our lovely residents family joined us which was lovely,and very heartwarming, then to our lovely local beach crimdon with ice cream, coffee, scones, laughs, laughter and smiles, looking at the gorgeous plants and flowers 🌼 and even nearly went back with a friend, a fish 🐠, ###

When you capture the moment 📷, it's so special 🧡 and today when our lovely resident Tom received his signed photograph from Steve Zante fox and friends, was absolutely amazing,Tom's words "or my god i can't believe it" with tears in his eyes, it's a once in a life time.
