Some great suggestions from Helios Homoeopathy for remedies for the coughs doing the rounds at the moment.

At Helios our homeopaths are busy helping with a high number of enquiries regarding coughs. Here are a few remedy suggestions for common cough symptoms or please visit our winter health section on our website www.helios.co.uk/collections/winter-health

✷ Aconite 30c - sudden onset often after exposure to cold dry air, croupy sounding, worse talking with a runny nose and sneezing.
✷ Ant-tart 30c - rattly, loose cough as if the chest is full of mucus which is hard to shift. It is worse at night and better for sitting up.
✷ Bryonia 30c - dry, hacking, painful cough which is worse in the evening and worse for movement.
✷ Drosera 30c - spasmodic, dry, irritating cough which is dry in the evening and loose in the morning. There is often retching after coughing.
✷ Phosphorous 30c - every cold descends to the chest, dry cough with a scratchy, tickly throat, often a burning sensation in the chest. Worse evening and cold air and better for warmth.
✷ Pulsatilla 30c - catarrhal cough with copious yellow / green mucus. There tends to be a lot of mucus in the morning and symptoms are often better for fresh air.
✷ Rumex 30c - tickly, irritating and incessant cough with intense tickling in the larynx and trachea. Symptoms are worse for cold air and at night.
✷ Spongia 30c - barking, dry, croupy cough with extreme dryness of air passages. There is a very distinctive barking sound and symptoms are better for warm drinks and sitting up.

I love this time of year as my beech hedges spring into life. The new leaves emerge fragile and delicate, and almost translucent. But it also reminds me that many people struggle with hayfever and spring can bring challenges.

Homeopathic remedies are picked on the basis of symptoms. So some people with hayfever will sneeze repeatedly, others will have sore runny eyes or an itchy mouth. One client told me that if she could just hold an ice cube in her throat she’d be fine!

I work from The Centre of Complementary Medicine our contact me directly for further information.

Great reminder from Deborah of Jacaranda Life Counselling UK to get out and enjoy the bluebells.

MindfulnessSpring (25)

The Bluebell
A fine and subtle spirit dwells
In every little flower,
Each one its own sweet feeling breathes
With more or less of power.
There is a silent eloquence
In every wild bluebell
That fills my softened heart with bliss
That words could never tell.
Anne Brontë (1820-1849)

I adore bluebell season because the forest comes alive with bluey purple presence and it takes me back to my childhood walks, dreamy flower-fairy 🧚 hats and art lessons!

Part of mindfulness is letting ourselves go so we can journey through past memories, reflections, associations and our own unique thought processes. It is ‘okay’ to feel and think how we do because our ‘monkey chatter’ brain will eventually and ultimately bring about calm thus encouraging our sense of inner peace and contentment.
Trust the process.

As we start to head out of the winter and look forward to better weather, it’s not all good news, especially for those who suffer from hayfever. Homeopathy has a long history of treating sufferers and it’s always a good idea to start early, before symptoms are entrenched. I offer a free initial appointment face to face or by phone. Just call The Centre of Complementary Medicine on 01730 231655 to book.

17/09/2022

All set up at the Petersfield Wellbeing Show at Buriton Village Hall. Hannah will be offering taster reflexology sessions, 12 mins for £10. There will be a talk from Shanagh on homeopathy in the home, so bring your questions and try and catch her out!

Any questions about any of the treatments we offer at The Centre, there’ll be someone who can help you.
