👣 1st June - National Go Barefoot Day
Taking your shoes off isn’t just a “summer thing”…
it actually says a lot about how your body is functioning.
Your feet are your foundation.
If they’re weak or not doing their job properly, that stress travels up the chain → ankles, knees, hips, even your lower back.
✨ A bit of barefoot time can help:
• Strengthen foot muscles
• Improve balance
• Give your body better movement feedback
There’s research showing that less supportive footwear can increase foot strength over time—which is key for overall movement and injury prevention.
From a chiropractic + sports massage point of view, we often see issues linked back to the feet…
heel pain, tight calves, Achilles problems, even knee or back discomfort.
⚠️ But—don’t go all in.
Switching suddenly to lots of barefoot activity can overload tissues.
Think little and often instead.
👉 Try 5–10 minutes barefoot today (somewhere safe)
Let your feet actually do their job 👣
