✈️ Heading off on a summer break? ☀️ Before you pack your sunscreen and glowing body oils, it’s worth considering what's in those products — especially if you’re in perimenopause or menopause.

As our hormones shift, our skin becomes more sensitive, drier, and reactive. The wrong products can disrupt your hormones, irritate your skin, and even worsen menopausal symptoms.

Some things to AVOID in your summer skincare:
🚫 Parabens
🚫 Phthalates
🚫 Synthetic fragrance

These ingredients are known endocrine disruptors .

Some natural alternatives to consider instead:
🌿 Aloe vera gel (soothes + hydrates)
🌿 Rosehip or jojoba oil (natural glow)
🌿 Chamomile or calendula mist (calms and cools)
🌿 Shea butter (nourishes dry patches post-beach)
⚠️ Caveat: Always patch-test new products before use, and if necessary seek advice from a skincare professional, especially if you have sensitive or reactive skin. Even natural ingredients can cause irritation for some people.

⚡️Back pain and pelvic floor dysfunction:
➡️A hypertonic or ‘tense’ pelvic floor is a type of pelvic floor dysfunction.
📊Data suggests that it occurs as often as in 1 in 10 people.
⬇️Hypertonic pelvic floor symptoms include
➡️chronic pain in the pelvic area,
➡️painful s*x,
➡️difficulty with urination and bowel movements,
➡️and lower back pain.
Urinary symptoms can include frequency, urgency, hesitancy, and incomplete emptying.
❤️If you suspect you may have a hypertonic pelvic floor, or pelvic floor dysfunction in general, it's a good idea to get checked out by a Women's Health Physio.
I work closely with local WHPs as part of my role in helping women improve their core function .
On my Back to your Core Program (tm) I teach women how to release the pelvic floor and core muscles, (and other areas!) so that they can then work on strengthening their core back up again.

The marmite of all Pilates kit - The Pilates Circle!
Some of my participants love it, some ... well don't (and call it the Circle of Torture!)
But like other bits of Pilates kit, it's so versatile - great for:
-toning inner thighs;

⭐️Big News: I’m officially training to become a Mindfulness Coach 🌿

Over the years, I’ve seen how anxiety can quietly take hold—racing thoughts, restless nights, that feeling like you just can’t switch off.
And more than ever, as I've got older I know the impact this can have on physical health as well as mental wellbeing.
I'm taking this journey because, more recently, my own regular mindfulness practice has helped me manage the grieving process. I want to learn how to help others use this invaluable tool to:

🧠 Calm the anxious mind
💬 Respond to stress with clarity
💓 Reconnect with the present moment
🌱 Build inner resilience, gently and sustainably.
