We were delighted to welcome students and staff from Seaford College this week and to thank them in person for the generous £1,043 donation raised through the Chichester Cathedral Carol Services in support of our home. 💙

Residents, trustees, and staff really enjoyed the visit, and we are very grateful for the generosity and ongoing support. Support like this makes a real difference to the experiences we can provide for those in our care.

Thank you to everyone at Seaford College for your continued friendship and community partnership — it means so much to us.

💚 Thank You, Caroline — and Happy Retirement! 💚

Today we celebrated the retirement of our wonderful Deputy Manager. Over the years, Caroline has been a constant presence — compassionate, dependable, and deeply committed to our residents, families, and team. She has helped shape our culture and make Petworth Cottage the warm, caring home it is today.

The celebration was filled with stories, laughter, gratitude — and a few happy tears — reflecting just how much she means to all of us.

Caroline, thank you for your dedication and your heart. We’re grateful that we’ll still see you for a little while as part of our nurse bank team. Wishing you every happiness in this next chapter 💐

January may be cold (and even frosty!) but it hasn’t slowed us down at Petworth Cottage. ❄️

From trips out with residents — including visits to a garden centre and time spent painting — to enjoying winter scenery from the warmth of the minibus, the month has been full of lovely moments.

We’ve also shared afternoon tea and a relaxed cheese-and-wine evening with friends and family.

Whatever the weather, it’s the time spent together that matters. 🩵

On Friday we said a fond farewell to Frankie, who retires after 20 wonderful years with us.

Over her time at Petworth Cottage, Frankie has served faithfully as both a carer and, more recently, in our laundry team… but her impact went far beyond her roles.

She always made time to stop and chat with residents, sharing a smile that lifted spirits. Her gentle presence will be dearly missed by everyone here, but especially by colleagues, because on the tough days, Frankie always brings a kind word of encouragement.

We wish her every happiness as she steps into this exciting new chapter. Thank you, Frankie, for everything. 🌼💚

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our stall at the Petworth Park Fete on Saturday! 🌿

We had a wonderful day meeting so many of you, and the sunshine was the cherry on top. A huge shout-out to Hannah T for keeping us organised and ensuring our stand looked absolutely fantastic.

Your support helps us continue fostering community and connection here at Petworth Cottage Nursing Home. We’ll see you again at the fete next year! ✨
