If you're gearing up for your GCSE exams now, here are a few tips that might help:
🧘♀️ 1. Breathe – properly
Sounds simple, but slowing your breathing can really help if anxiety kicks in. Try breathing in for 4, holding for 4, and out for 4.
📚 2. Don’t revise non-stop
Your brain needs breaks to work well. Step away for a bit, stretch, move around – it makes a big difference.
🎧 3. Listen to something relaxing
Music, nature sounds, or even a calming podcast can help your brain chill out before bed or between study sessions.
🌈 4. Picture things going well
Spend a few minutes visualising yourself feeling calm and confident in the exam room. It might sound a bit “out there”, but it really works.
💬 5. Be kind to yourself
Exams are important, but so is your wellbeing.
💪 6. Eat something nutritious
If you're anxious, it can be really easy not to eat, especially if the nerves are making you feel a bit nauseous. Having something to eat will give your stomach acid something to work on and provide vital nutrients to your brain. Some fruit or a small handful of nuts are useful for snacks. Think of it as feeding your brain, rather than feeding your stomach.
