1️⃣ It may seem obvious, of course You know how much fat You want to lose. But is it realistic? Be smart about setting Your fat loss goals. For most individuals the smart fat loss goal will be 0.5 to 1lbs per week.
Now, when You’re setting those weekly fat loss goals You must also set process goals. Fat loss is essentially “only” an outcome goal, but what process will You follow to achieve that outcome goal? What tasks will You complete to ensure You get Yourself into a calorie deficit?

2️⃣ And just like that we’re straight into the second point. You must follow a set structure when it comes to You training and nutrition. Winging it in the gym and guess working Your calories or protein intake will only take You so far. If You truly want to reach Your goals following training and nutrition plan will be essential.

3️⃣ Don’t rely on motivation. Most of my clients are probably bored to death of me talking about their mindset and revisiting their WHY. But I do talk about it all the time because if the reason for transforming Your body is strong enough it will be the only thing that will “carry” You to reach the end result. Reasons will vary from wanting to get a six pack to impress women, to proving childhood bullies wrong or just having a better s*x life with a partner. It doesn’t matter what it is as long as that desire to achieve is strong enough to get You into the gym even when You don’t feel like it.

4️⃣ You need to accept that if You want to maintain Your results or just make the fat loss process consistent, learning to track calories or macros will make Your life a whole lot easier and a lot more flexible. It’s as simple as that. Start using MyFitnessPal.

5️⃣ Stay accountable. To me, to a coach, to a friend or a family member. Whoever it is, it must be someone You fully trust, and You feel like You would not want to let them down. Check-in with them at least once a week. Get them to call You out on Your own BS and excuses. Follow their lead. That way You take away all the stress and overthinking and You focus Your energy on on following the plan.

Since becoming a PT & then moving into the online space I always said that, regardless of finances, if I am able to impact or even change someone else's life it will be worth it. ⁣


Luckily I have been able to make a living and pay my bills with what I am doing and impacting more than just one life. ⁣


I guess I found my purpose 🙏🏼⁣


Now I want You to meet Ryan. ⁣


He reached out to me in lockdown as he was struggling not only with his body but also with the state of his mental health. ⁣


Now, I am not a mental health expert but I understand the huge benefits of physical activity, good nutrition and external accountability and support on mental health. ⁣


Ryan has lost a total of 24lbs in 12 weeks.⁣

Training with minimal space and equipment at home. He hasn't stepped into the gym once!⁣

His nutrition is structured with occasional takeaways at the weekends. ⁣

I see too many people panic 😨

They jump from one diet to the other, from one training programme to some hyped up influencer's miracle workouts, from one coach to another 🤦🏼‍♂️

REMEMBER ONE THING:

There will almost always be a time during a dieting phase where You will face a plateau 📉

➡️Asses how disciplined was You with Your calorie intake the past few weeks?

➡️Did you consume more processed foods?

➡️How many times have you skipped going to the gym?

➡️How is Your sleep hygiene?

➡️Are you consuming enough protein daily?

➡️Has Your water intake dropped?

⚠️Work on developing self-awareness with those things rather than searching for "something better".

Adjust and manipulate those variables if You're stuck in a rut with Your fat loss.

9 out of 10 times the answer is right there in front of You but You choose to ignore it 🤷🏼‍♂️

➡️ Take care of Yourself physically, mentally & emotionally.

➡️ Get uncomfortable daily 💪🏼

➡️ But also, do things that bring You joy & clarity in life.

And once You show up as the best version of Yourself You'll be the best DAD & a FAMILY MAN they can wish for 🚀
