1️⃣ It may seem obvious, of course You know how much fat You want to lose. But is it realistic? Be smart about setting Your fat loss goals. For most individuals the smart fat loss goal will be 0.5 to 1lbs per week.
Now, when You’re setting those weekly fat loss goals You must also set process goals. Fat loss is essentially “only” an outcome goal, but what process will You follow to achieve that outcome goal? What tasks will You complete to ensure You get Yourself into a calorie deficit?

2️⃣ And just like that we’re straight into the second point. You must follow a set structure when it comes to You training and nutrition. Winging it in the gym and guess working Your calories or protein intake will only take You so far. If You truly want to reach Your goals following training and nutrition plan will be essential.

3️⃣ Don’t rely on motivation. Most of my clients are probably bored to death of me talking about their mindset and revisiting their WHY. But I do talk about it all the time because if the reason for transforming Your body is strong enough it will be the only thing that will “carry” You to reach the end result. Reasons will vary from wanting to get a six pack to impress women, to proving childhood bullies wrong or just having a better s*x life with a partner. It doesn’t matter what it is as long as that desire to achieve is strong enough to get You into the gym even when You don’t feel like it.

4️⃣ You need to accept that if You want to maintain Your results or just make the fat loss process consistent, learning to track calories or macros will make Your life a whole lot easier and a lot more flexible. It’s as simple as that. Start using MyFitnessPal.

5️⃣ Stay accountable. To me, to a coach, to a friend or a family member. Whoever it is, it must be someone You fully trust, and You feel like You would not want to let them down. Check-in with them at least once a week. Get them to call You out on Your own BS and excuses. Follow their lead. That way You take away all the stress and overthinking and You focus Your energy on on following the plan.
