Working alongside we have been working with Ben on his rehab over the past couple of months.

He has suffered from various knee injuries over the past 2 years which then meant he required surgery which he underwent 2 months ago in order to remove a floating bone.

He has stepped up his rehab and is now doing ball work. His hard work and determined attitude means he should be back sooner than later.

Practical 1 - Post Lockdown
After roughly 7 months of not being on campus, we have finally returned back to the clinical room and our first session back involved the use of electrotherapy.

The most common types of electrotherapy are ultrasound (US), a modality of treatment that uses sound waves to generate heat within a body part (Mascarin et al., 2012).

The 4 key elements of the ultrasound to remember when setting up include:
- Frequency (1MHz or 3MHz)
- Pulsing (continuous or pulsed)
- Power (Watts per square centimetre)
- Time (1 min of US for every treatment head)

Therapeutic ultrasound in rehabilitation has a number of uses including the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders such as pain, muscle spasm, joint contracture and tissue injury (Morish*ta et al., 2014).
