Some sources of support for seafarers in the Middle East

Seafarers Hospital Society join the wider maritime community in calling for a immediate end to attacks and threats against merchant shipping in the Persian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz and Gulf of Oman, and for enhanced measures to be put in place to protect seafarers of all nationalities.

Merchant seafarers are civilians, often working in testing conditions many miles from their homes and loved ones. Without their efforts, global trade would grind to a halt and so much of our daily lives would not be possible. They must be allowed to go about their work, free of fear or threat.

For any seafarers operating in the region, or concerned loved ones, support is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year via SeafarerHelp, a free, confidential, multilingual helpline for seafarers and their families (International Seafarers' Welfare and Assistance Network - ISWAN).
