Sometimes, we try hard to live a life that has lots of spiritual connection in, but we get to the end of the day and realise that it's been filled with everything but spiritual connection, and we're too tired to do anything now!
We're so depleted and feeling overwhelmed with life that we just can't think straight to do anything, and anyway, if we did, the guilt would kick in cause there's always something else that needs doing in life.
So lets start to change that.
This evening, start by taking two minutes and write down five times in the day that you can squeeze in something of no more than two or three minutes (the time can also be whilst you're doing something else like having a shower or washing up, eating your lunch or brushing your teeth).
Then write down five things that you can do to connect yourself spiritually that take no longer than two or three minutes to do (the shorter the better!)
Then I want you to chose JUST ONE time in the day and JUST ONE spiritual connection. Then, if it's something that happens the same time every day, stick a timer on your phone for it to remind you. If it is at a variable time of day, get a sticky note and write down one word which will remind you, and put it in the place that you will have that two minutes to connect.
So, that could be a note in your bathroom so that when you have a shower you visualise it washing any negative energy away. It could be a note in your lunchbox reminding you to do a walking meditation once you've finished. It could be a reminder on your phone at 4pm on a Wednesday when you're sat in your car waiting for a child to finish a club, to spend two minutes doing a mini meditation.
They all help maintain our spiritual connection, and in doing so, they all fill our spiritual cup up. Something that makes us feel more like our true selves.
Once you've nailed one spiritual connection a day, come back to your list and find a second. Then a third and so on. Even if some days you have to go back to just one, make sure that you always do that one.
