Living with chronic pain asks so much of us—patience, resilience, and strength we don’t always give ourselves credit for. This month, we’re creating space to gently turn inward, soften self-judgement, and explore what it can look like to meet ourselves with kindness, especially on the harder d...

We are nearly at the end of what has been a very long month. Looking forward to February which will be much shorter!

It's a bit bananas!
We do apologise but the Unit 8 session today will be for independent use only due to staff sickness. If you have previously used the equipment and would like to do the circuit before catching up with everyone over a coffee please go ahead. Julie and Sean will be at the next session instead.

Sharing a really useful resource here. The late Michael Mosley had some really great common sense ideas. This one is on sleeping.

As more people than ever report struggling with their sleep, Michael Mosley uses the latest science to explore how this impacts our health and what can be done to improve our sleep.

During today's pain cafes about nutrition we talked about air fryers. I'm a huge convert. It saves money, can cook small portions, stops me picking up trays from hot oven at the wrong height and is easy to clean. Do you have one? What do you think of it?

Happy New Year 2026.
Welcome to this year. I think we are all glad to leave 2025 behind! Instead of making resolutions I can't stick to (plus associated guilt and shame afterwards) I'm making a few small changes. I will do these simple things each day.
1. Clean one thing. There are 365 days of the year, deep clean something each day will keep me focused.
2. Throw/ donate/ sell something. Reducing clutter brings peace of mind (also less to clean!).
3. Meditation every day. The toughest one for me. I've bought a book (photo) with daily meditations as a great place to start but I will also listen more to apps and podcasts etc.
4. 15 mins movement. Today it was a mindful walk.

Share your thoughts below for making this year happy and successful ⬇️

We were absolutely delighted to help around 150 families this Christmas via the Neighbourly/Lidl toy drive. It was delightful to see people turning up and receiving toys during this cost of living crisis and hope we managed to spread a little joy around.

The food we give away at pain cafes all comes from surplus via the Neighbourly scheme. It means we stay sustainable, saving waste and money. Any food not used in cafes or taken home is redistributed locally, to families, Community Centres and food banks.
