We are appalled that new data shows that in the space of six years, living in 'Temporary Accommodation' contributed to the deaths of 104 children in England.

That's one child every three weeks.

These children had their whole futures ahead of them. We cannot allow their deaths to become normalised.

Every child deserves a safe place to call home.

Ministers have set out plans to reduce the use of temporary housing and end the use of bed and breakfasts for families.

And while this is a start, in the long-term we need to build more social homes to guarantee no child in the UK is left homeless.

Every year, more than 727 000 lives are lost to su***de.
Behind each number is a story cut short.

We aimed for a 33% reduction in deaths by 2030, but progress is just 12%.

This is a crisis. We must act with urgency, compassion & investment in su***de prevention.

💜 establishes clear metrics for success
💜 maps out the process systems should go through to establish local metrics
💜 defines the roles of ICBs, local authorities, health and wellbeing boards, and other partners in neighbourhood health’s development and implementation

⚠️ Be meningitis aware Plymouth!
You might have seen the news about the meningitis outbreak in Kent, where two people have sadly died. While there are no new cases in Plymouth, it’s important to know the signs and act fast if you’re worried.
Meningitis is rare but very serious. It can come on suddenly and lead to sepsis, so spotting symptoms early and getting urgent medical help saves lives.

Know the symptoms!
These may not all appear, but seek help immediately if you notice:
• ❗ A rash that doesn’t fade when you press a glass on it
• 🌡️ High fever that comes on suddenly
• 🤕 Severe, worsening headache
• 😣 Stiff neck
• 🤢 Vomiting or diarrhoea
• 😴 Extreme sleepiness or difficulty waking someone

What to do
🚑 If you’re concerned or suspect meningitis:
➡️ Go to A&E immediately or call 999 — early treatment is lifesaving.
📞 Not sure about symptoms? Call NHS 111 for advice.

Vaccination
If you’re under 25 and haven’t had the MenACWY vaccine, contact your GP. It’s free and protects against several common causes of meningitis.

We love community radio stations and we’re super happy that Apple FM Taunton has successfully found a new base from which to continue their community broadcasting 💜

The move from Musgrove Park Hospital to The Castle at Taunton has come after 55 years of the station broadcasting from the hospital site and BBC Somerset reported its as a result of ‘increasing NHS pressures’

The new location gives new opportunities in the evolution of community broadcasting as the connections within communities expand in favour of widening audiences whilst maintaining links with local people and businesses

Arterne CIC has supported the notion of community radio and has shown support in Plymouth for Ocean City Radio Community Interest Company Hospital Radio Plymouth Ferndale Community Radio

Times are changing for everyone and community radio stations play a vital role in keeping people connected, reducing loneliness and promoting mental health through music
