My current research project has me exploring (virtually through the wonders of the internet) Monmouthshire and places with such wonderful names as Portskewett, Croes Bleddyn and St Woolos.
If you would like to know where your ancestors came from send me a message!

Yesterday I delivered a bow-tie family tree and accompanying family history book to a lovely couple from Somerset. I’d discovered some skeletons in the cupboard and I was a bit worried they might be upset but they were intrigued and very happy with the finished project.
If you’d like me to research your family history please get in touch (skeletons cannot be guaranteed)!

Been busy working on a family history for a client but finally got around to taking down my own tree and filling in the last of my 5x great grandparents- Thomas Lewis, a marine, married Jane Tremeer Edgecombe on 10 Jun 1823 in Droitwich. The bride was from St Stephens by Saltash.

I’ve had chance to finish writing my own family history and had it printed. If you’d like a beautiful hardback family history (a future heirloom) and matching family tree, please contact me.

I have been working on my family history for years now and every now and then I solve a puzzle that’s been stopping me going any further. Today I found another solution and have been able to add another surname. My 5x great grandmother was Jane Lewis, the toll collector at Brixton turnpike in Devon. All I knew was she was born circa 1783 in St Stephens, and was the widow of Thomas Lewis, a sergeant in the Marines. Couldn’t find a marriage for them, or any details of his service record.
Today I found her burial record at Brixton on 25 Feb 1857, and the curate, Henry B Allen, helpfully included a potted biography for each entrant. Jane’s reads “Jane Lewis, daughter of John Hatchcomb, wheelwright, by Mary Trimmeer. Brixton Turnpike Gate. She was the widow of Thom Lewis sergeant in Marines”.
Thanks to the Cornwall OPC database I found her baptism on 30 Nov 1783 at St Stephen’s by Saltash “Jane Tremeer Edgecombe, daughter of John and Mary.
Another brick in the wall!

When you find the last Will and Testament of an ancestor (my 4x great grandfather in this case) and it throws up more questions than it answers! What was the reason he sent an attorney to Rio de Janeiro in 1849?

Another five generation tree and report ready to be dispatched. If you would like to find out your family history I can produce five or seven generation trees with a hardback, illustrated report. They make fantastic gifts and are true heirlooms.
