According to the NHS, around a third of UK adults have high blood pressure (hypertension) and don’t realise it.

If left untreated, hypertension can lead to serious heart and circulatory diseases such as heart attack and stroke.

Hypertension rarely has any noticeable symptoms. The only way to find out if your blood pressure is high is to have your blood pressure checked.
