THE THRESHOLD BEFORE OSTARA.
We have reached the night before the Spring Equinox.
This is not an ordinary night.
In the old traditions, the eve of Ostara was felt as a threshold, the place where winter’s hold loosened fully and the light prepared to step forward.
You may feel it already.
A strange stillness.
A sense of something closing.
A sense of something else waiting just beyond it.
This is the point where the wheel pauses before it turns.
Light and dark are about to stand equal.
And then the balance will begin to tip.
The Old Ways. 🧙
In the Old Ways, this night was never ignored.
It was watched carefully.
Not because it needed noise or spectacle, but because it carried weight.
The night before Ostara was understood as a crossing place, where the old season released its grip and the new one began gathering force.
Those who walked the old paths knew this,
what is spoken, chosen, cleared or claimed on this night carries forward into the growing half of the year.
This was threshold work.
Quiet.
Clear.
Deliberate.
High Priestess Authority.
A High Priestess does not wait for the gate to open.
She prepares herself before it does.
This is the night to know where you stand.
Not tomorrow.
Now.
What deserves to cross with you into the light half of the year?
What does not?
Ostara does not just bring renewal.
It brings decision.
And this night asks for honesty before the wheel turns.
Medium Transmission.
The field is close tonight.
Not chaotic.
Not overwhelming.
Close.
Many mediums notice on the eve of seasonal gateways,
dream messages becoming sharper.
ancestors drawing near.
signs repeating in waking life.
a clear inner knowing settling into place.
This is not imagination.
This is the threshold making itself known.
The unseen world often presses nearer at turning points in the wheel of the year.
And tonight is one of them.
And beneath this, the Pisces New Moon current is still moving quietly through the field, deepening intuition, dissolving what no longer belongs, and strengthening the inner knowing of what is ready to begin.
Deity Current Ostara, Eostre, Freyja & Freyr.
This night belongs to the rising current of Ostara, the Germanic dawn goddess of renewal, and Eostre, the Anglo Saxon spring goddess whose symbols of hare, egg, and returning light have long marked this season.
But the Norse field moves strongly here too.
Freyja stirs beauty, desire, sovereignty and the fierce instinct to step fully back into life.
Freyr governs fertility, peace, green growth and the blessing of the land itself.
Together these currents move through the threshold before Ostara,
fertility of land.
fertility of body.
fertility of ideas.
courage to step into what is ready to begin.
This is not symbolic.
This is the living force of spring gathering itself.
🕯 Practical Witchcraft.
Tonight is a powerful night for threshold work.
You may feel drawn to,
speak intention into an egg.
wipe your doorway with rosemary or salt water.
light a single candle and let it burn as witness.
place fresh water, flowers, or seeds on your altar.
And if you are working with the egg tonight,
Hold it in both hands and speak clearly into it what you are calling forward.
Then bury it on this night.
As it returns to the earth, so your intention is planted.
As the land awakens, so does what you have set in motion.
Nothing forced.
Nothing excessive.
Just clear acts that tell the field,
I am ready for the turning.

Pause tonight before sleep.
Stand at your doorway, altar, or by a candle.
Feel the stillness.
And say quietly,
“I stand ready for the light to lead.”
Because the wheel is not waiting now.
And Ostara arrives with the dawn.
