Yesterday morning we had a fantastic game of bingo 🎉🃏 and it was so lovely to see everyone getting involved, laughing, and enjoying themselves 😊

In the afternoon, we made the most of the beautiful sunshine ☀️ and headed out for a walk to the local park 🌳🌼. We sat together on a bench, sharing stories, reminiscing about old times, and enjoying each other’s company 💬💛

Some of our residents even embraced their playful side having a go on the swings, the roundabout, and even the slide! 🎠 🎢 It was such a joy to see their faces light up with happiness and laughter 😄✨

Moments like these are so important. Getting out into the fresh air, staying active, and creating opportunities for connection and joy truly make a difference to wellbeing 🌿💖

An absolutely amazing afternoon, and a privilege to be part of such special moments 💫

🎉🏃‍♀️ Physical Games Day Fun! 🏃‍♂️🎉

What a fantastic day we had yesterday with our Physical Games Day! 💪🧠 The focus was all about keeping our bodies moving, minds active, and improving coordination—and we certainly did just that! 😊✨

Residents enjoyed a variety of fun and engaging activities including:🎳 Carpet bowls🏖️ Beach ball catch & throw🎈 Balloon tennis & balloon bopping🌈 Parachute games with colourful ball pit balls flying high into the air!

The parachute game was definitely a highlight—full of laughter, excitement, and big smiles as the balls went soaring! 😄🙌

It was wonderful to see so many residents come together, supporting one another, sharing laughs, and enjoying the moment 💜 Whether living with dementia or nursing needs, everyone was able to take part in their own way, making it truly inclusive and uplifting 🌟

☀️ In the afternoon, some of our residents also enjoyed time out in the garden, soaking up the fresh air and sunshine 🌿🌼 while getting creative with some rock painting 🎨🪨—a lovely, calming activity that brought out everyone’s artistic side!

Activities like these are so important in promoting physical wellbeing, social connection, and joy—and yesterday was a perfect example of that 💖

Well done to everyone who joined in—you made it a day to remember! 👏🥳

✨☕️ What a Wonderful Day at Devonshire House & Lodge! ☕️✨

Yesterday we hosted a fantastic coffee morning with games, and what a brilliant turnout it was! 🎉 Residents came together for lots of laughter, friendly competition, and great company 💜

We enjoyed a variety of games including Kaplunk, dominoes, hangman, card games, plus a fun word search and quiz all about games 🧠♠️ Everyone got involved, and the room was full of smiles and chatter 😊

To make it extra special, some of us even treated ourselves to a little splash of Baileys in our coffee ☕️🥃 – because why not! 😉

In the afternoon, with the sun shining beautifully 🌞, a few of our residents spent some relaxing time outdoors, soaking up the fresh air and enjoying the warmth 🌿🌼

We also made sure to have some lovely one-to-one time with residents who prefer to stay in their rooms, sharing conversations, companionship, and making sure everyone felt included and valued 💕

And of course, a little bit of pampering too! 💅 Some of our ladies enjoyed having their nails painted, adding a touch of sparkle to the day ✨

Days like this remind us how important it is to create moments of joy, connection, and inclusion for everyone in our care 💜

Keeping active is so important at every stage of life, and today our residents enjoyed a fantastic session of armchair exercises led by Tara 💪

Armchair exercises are a great way to support mobility, improve circulation, and keep both the body and mind engaged — all while having fun in a safe and comfortable way. There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and great participation from everyone involved!

A big thank you to Tara for leading such an enjoyable session. It’s wonderful to see our residents staying active and having such a good time 😊

☘️💚 Happy St. Patrick’s Day from all of us at Devonshire House & Lodge! 💚☘️

Top of the morning to you all! 🇮🇪✨ What a truly wonderful day we’ve had celebrating all things Irish in our community hub and what a turnout it was! Our residents came together for a lively, laughter-filled celebration that was nothing short of magical… a real pot of gold at the end of the rainbow! 🌈💰

We enjoyed a tipple of Guinness 🍺, shared some beautiful Irish poems, and had great fun learning a bit of Irish slang, safe to say there were plenty of smiles and giggles all around! 😄☘️ The room was filled with the sound of traditional Irish music 🎶, and we all proudly sang along to the Irish anthem 🇮🇪❤️

A big well done to our fantastic lifestyle team and care staff, who had everyone clapping along with a brilliant Irish dance performance 💃🕺 you certainly brought the spirit of the Emerald Isle to life!

Our creative residents also got stuck in with colouring shamrocks 🍀, and worked together to make beautiful Irish flag bunting 🇮🇪 to decorate the space, it looked absolutely fantastic!

There may not have been any leprechauns spotted 👀🍀, but there was certainly plenty of Irish cheer, laughter, and community spirit to go around 💚✨

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made today so special, it truly was a shamrockin’ good time! ☘️💚

We had truly lovely and busy day at the hub! We had bingo , Then we did chocolate picture bingo. Then we listening to songs with a cuppa.

We had a dog visit is always such a highlight—there’s something so therapeutic about stroking a dog and having that company in the room. It sounds like Gemma's dog was a big hit with everyone.

Also this afternoon it's been very productive getting ready for St. Patrick's Day tomorrow. Homemade bunting and flags always add such a personal, festive touch to a celebration.

Yesterday we celebrated Mother’s Day here at Devonshire House & Lodge with a lovely cream tea and coffee morning, with music playing softly in the background. Residents enjoyed taking part in a Mother’s Day quiz and listening to a special poem for the occasion.

It was wonderful to see so many family members popping in and out throughout the day, bringing beautiful flowers, cards and gifts for their mums. The smiles and special moments shared made it a truly lovely day for everyone.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mothers out there. 💐

🌼 National Plant a Flower Day

On Thursday our residents enjoyed celebrating National Plant a Flower Day by getting their hands a little muddy and planting some beautiful flowers into plant pots. James and Shanice also put their gardening hats on for the occasion and helped everyone get stuck in! 🌱
Gardening is a lovely activity that encourages gentle movement, creativity, and time spent connecting with nature, while also bringing back fond memories of gardens from years gone by. It was a wonderful afternoon filled with smiles, laughter, and teamwork.
We look forward to watching the flowers grow and brighten our home in the weeks ahead. We always love sharing these special moments with our residents, families, and visitors. 🌸
