This has been an incredibly difficult week for many in Plymouth, particularly for residents in Southway following the discovery of a live bomb in the area. Our thoughts are with everyone affected—especially those who faced disruption, uncertainty, and the challenge of leaving their homes at short notice.
At Enliva Homecare-Plymouth we are proud of how our community and local services came together to support one another during this time. Through close partnership working with our social care colleagues, we were able to ensure that our vulnerable service users remained safe, supported, and cared for throughout.🙏
Despite the challenges:
• A social worker carried out a vital welfare check and administered medication one of our service user who chose to remain at home within the cordon.
• One of our disabled clients was supported with emergency accommodation in a local hotel to minimise disruption.
• A client living with dementia was safely placed in a local care home environment for additional support.
• We also stepped in to assist a vulnerable individual, usually supported by another provider, ensuring continuity of care when capacity was limited—helping them transition safely to supported accommodation.
Moments like these highlight what domiciliary care is truly about—collaboration, compassion, and stepping up when it matters most. It’s about professionals coming together to ensure that those who rely on care are never left without support.
We are proud to be part of such a resilient and caring community. 🩷💜🧡
